    Diabetes & Addison's Disease

Hi! I’ve just noticed this post and am very interested to hear how you’re getting on with both conditions as I struggle to find people with both especially my age! I’m diabetic and have been since I was 8 months old and was also diagnosed with Addisons in September 2017!

Thank you for your advice, I’ve been diabetic a long time however only in the last year have got an insulin pump, CGM etc so it’s a lot more to think about! I think my main worry was the metal detector as it just feels wrong to walk through it with the pump but I understand why it’s fine! Haha!

I know, not good! I do still feel hypos anything under 4 but luckily the hypos tend to be at set times of day when I don’t tend to be driving and never serious enough for me to have another person to help me! Have had a couple of close shaves whilst driving (even after doing exactly what DVLA...

Hi everyone, haven’t posted much recently! Busy bee me! Had a diabetic check up a few weeks ago and was told I’m going too low to regularly...at 106 hypos in 90 days I’m not really surprised! Trying to relax a bit with my insulin as I think that’s half the problem as I know I stack insulin, so...

Yes that could be an option, I’m on an insulin pump, so have the freedom to adjust easily. Luckily I still feel hypos quite strongly, anything under about 4!

Afternoon everyone! Going to see my DSN tonight which should be interesting as I think they’re going to tell me off for having too many lows....6 hypos in the last 24 hours and 15 in the last 7 days, 96 in the last 90 days [emoji50] think my basal needs adjusting but whenever I do this I end...

Evening all! Hope all your BSL’s are behaving! I’ve had a bit of a low day, 5 hypos in the last 24 hours so thinking maybe my basal needs some adjustment! On the plus side I think the blood thinners are taking effect as managed to go for two walks over the weekend with the pup and not been...

Morning All! So I’ve had an interesting few days to say the least! I’ve not been right for the last few months with energy and not being able to exercise without going bright red and out of breath within a few minutes but finally got an answer yesterday ...it wasn’t good but at least they...

Yes had glucotabs first and waited a good while, No movement so moved onto whatever they had in the vending machine at work! Just one of those mornings I think! Such a pain! I will probably suffer the consequences later for the chocolate!!

So after two hours of trying to sort my low blood sugar out...1 hot chocolate, 1 galaxy chocolate bar, 10 fruit pastilles & 2 dextrose tablets later I’m finally up at 7.5 and stable! Yes! Not sure what happened there but let’s hope it doesn’t mess up the rest of the day!! @helensaramay...

Hello everyone! I just feel the need to tell everyone, currently at a spa having a ‘twilight spa evening’ and I’m winning at diabetes (without my insulin pump!) on 6.2! AND my libre hasn’t fallen off yet! Winning at life! [emoji106]

    One for the ladies

I recently had a chest x-ray when I was in hospital and I told them I had an insulin pump and the libre and they said it was fine!!! I did think it seemed odd!! At least I know for next time!!! Lucky nothing broke or was damaged!!

Hi again! Reading about all the old technology (or lack there of), I know I was on syringes when diagnosed but obviously wasn’t doing it myself so really by the time I was old enough I was on insulin pens! I also (tried to find a picture but couldn’t remember the name of it) had an automatic...

Thank you for the replies, yes I only got the insulin pump back in September so still adjusting the basal rates, my biggest annoyance is at night! A few nights on the trot night my BS shoots up, so increase my basal to counteract or try a temp basal, the following night I’m hypoing! My control...
