    Ypsopump Insulin requirements

No, I was on the t-slim HCL before this. The increase has been due to the move between loops which was odd. When I moved from MDI to t-slim a few years ago, my insulin needs dropped by about 20%.

    Ypsopump Insulin requirements

Hi all, I started on the Ypsopump about a month ago. Since I started, my insulin requirements have increased by 25%. My diet and exercise level hasn’t changed. My time in range has not really improved by much, maybe 1-2% better I also feel like I have put on weight since I started. In the...

    Frozen Shoulder Surgery

Thanks all for your replies! I am very lucky to have private health insurance through work, so I feel that this is an operation that I probably wouldn’t get on the NHS. I don’t have an expectation of being back to full range of motion, but would really like to be able to put on a bra in the...

    Frozen Shoulder Surgery

Hi all, I have been living with a frozen shoulder for almost 2 years. I have had steroid injections, hydro-dilation and lots of physio. The hydro dilation and physio have helped, but my shoulder consultant thinks that I may have adhesions that will require surgical release. My physio thinks...

    Closed loop systems and exercise

Sometimes I will “waste” a drop of insulin before exercise. I disconnect from the site and then give a small bolus. This stops the loop from trying to correct higher blood sugars you might have if you have taken a small snack to help from dropping low or if you start with a higher blood sugar...

    Pump friendly pyjamas

I got too annoyed with the bulkiness of the clip case. I normally pop it in my pocket or bra during the day and the clip just caught on things.

    Pump friendly pyjamas

Will take a look. Do you have a link?

    Pump friendly pyjamas

It might be fiddly to manage safety pins in the dark, when the alarms are going off. I’ve tried Velcro in the past but just got annoyed with it.

    Pump friendly pyjamas

Hi all, In the quest for a good night’s sleep, I’m looking for suggestions for pyjamas with decent trouser pockets. Have any tubed-pump users bought any good ones recently? I am female and uk based, but open to any pj options! I don’t love button up pyjamas with the shirt pocket, as the...

    Type 1 Novorapid shortage

This might need to be a back-up option! Do you just use the syringe to draw the insulin out of the vial?

    Type 1 Novorapid shortage

I have heard the same. My pharmacy has been trying to get novorapid vials for a week now with no luck.

    When did you deliver?

Thanks to everyone for your feedback on this. In the end, the little one decided to show up at 36+2, after my waters went at 36 weeks on the dot! His sugars were perfect after birth. Due to midwives not believing I was in labour for two days, until they checked and found I was 9cm dilated...

    When did you deliver?

Congratulations on your new arrival!! I’m really not looking forward to the post-birth blood sugar roller coaster, after the difficulties of trying to keep in pregnancy targets for so long! I chatted to my obstetrician again this week and she clarified that she would like to deliver in the...

    Metformin dose timing

Hi all, I am currently taking SR metformin to manage insulin resistance in pregnancy (I am type 1). I’m currently 29 weeks and have hit another resistance spike. My endocrinologist has advised that I can increase my metformin dose to help with this. I have been taking 2x500mg tablets in the...

    When did you deliver?

Thanks @Munkki Didn’t mean to cause any offence. These are all personal choices and you’re entitled to do what feels best for you and your baby. Obviously the hospital can’t physically force you to come in and be induced if you don’t want to go down that route. I have no experience with...

    Novorapid issues?

Hi all, Has anyone been experiencing issues with Novorapid recently. I have had about 3 vials in the past two months that seem to contain defective insulin. I mentioned it to my pharmacist, who told me to get in touch with the manufacturer. It’s all been stored properly and refrigerated.

    When did you deliver?

Yes, they seem happy enough that 37 weeks is full term so no reason to go much further than that given the risks. We’re you induced at 38 weeks on the dot?

    When did you deliver?

Hi all, Just trying to get an idea of the average delivery dates for us diabetics! What was everyone’s experience with this? Were you allowed to go beyond 37 weeks? I am nearly 26 weeks now, just started growth scans and everything is good so far. Hospital is very happy with my Hba1c and TIR...

Type 2 Preconception and Pregnancy Help...First Time Parents

Unfortunately my experience is only as a type 1, but I would recommend asking if your hospital diabetes clinic has a pre-pregnancy specialist who can assist. You should probably also ask to start taking the higher dose folic acid supplements. Good luck!!

    Scar tissue and infusion sites

Trusteel has been great for me too and helps me to understand why I found the other sites so difficult at the beginning. I have found that using a tegaderm dressing over the site is really helpful. It keeps it waterproof and stops the cannula from moving under the skin (which I think caused some...
