I've done that too : D given a bolus and heard the pump going in the toilet. Somehow a reset does nothing to improve my speed... go figure.

    Pump strap and high readings

I have a bit of a beef with my insight in that it takes ages to calculate a bolus, sometimes I'll be about to eat and waiting for the handset to calculate the bolus, and I just end up forgetting about it so the hanset times out before actually sending the bolus. The handset has been getting...

    Pump strap and high readings

Thanks for the replies, warmth of the body does not seem to be a factor (from the general consensus), I change my insulin every 3 days as recommended, no blockages that i'm aware of. After a pretty bad week I have realised my bolus ratios have changed quite a bit, so hopefully that was the...

    Pump strap and high readings

Hi, I have been using a pump for about a year, numbers have been great so far. I ercently started trapping the pump (accucheck insight, novorapid) to my belly with a lycra band, which is very comfy. However about the same period I have noticed many highs which I was not having before. I am...

Accu Chek Insight - another warning :(

"Please wear the pump in such a way that the Quick Bolus keys on the top of the pump cannot be pressed accidentally" You gotta be kidding... Sounds like when Apple said of their antenna problems that "users are holding the phone wrong"

Occlusions and high readings using flexi cannulas

Hi, I'm very concerned with this as I'm about to get the Insight for myself. One question, I was under the impression that before you get to the point of DKA the pump sounds an alarm when insulin delivery is blocked due to kinked cannula, isn't this the case?

    Pump newbie pressing question

Hi, I am due to get a start session with my insulin pump next week (yay!). The nurse at the hospital has given me a letter for the GP to get the necessary supplies on prescription, ready for the session. The list includes insulin cart, strips, ketosticks and lancets, but no infusion sets. It...

    Eye nerve palsy

Hi, I just got diagnosed with this myself, same nerve, same eye. Woke up this morning with double vision and freaked out. This is very upsetting, hope it will get back to normal soon. I was told that well controlled diabetes is the best way of avoiding, my Hb1 is decent, but it doesn't tell the...
