DAFNE experience - the good and the bad!

Like most things in life: you get out of it what you put into it. OS I am now putting into it! Left London 6 years ago and DAFNE courses pretty much unavailable to me. Maybe I should commute to London. However ... Got a BIANCA course in late Spring, which is 4 half days of Insulin & Carb...

    Appalled at experiments on dogs

I agree with the outcomes, so well said CambridgeLass I am ignorant but surely testing on animals is not pleasant. Consider also the ethics on whether to man should accept the "testing" done by Nazis on gypsies which was was very unpleasant yet led to advances in treatments. By accepting the...

I have no difficulties but I had to make sidesteps. Last summer I rec'd a letter about the costs of blood test strips and was told I would get a replacement meter and strip type. When I went to re-order online, there was a new type of strip available to me but I simply chose my existing type...

    Diabetic and Depression

I have not been diagnosed with depression, but we are prone to it: diabetic Stan Laurel famously had it. Luckily I was diagnosed type 1 when aged 5. Now over 40 years later the diabetes is no big thing for me; I certainly say it does not control my life, though maybe it has a significant input...

    Three Blind NICE

Remember too that NICE has a political objective: save costs. They publicly ignored US research and US prescribing that identified 1 (new therefore expensive) drug as having very beneficial benefits in regressing breast cancer. A year or 2 ago it was roundly concluded in the press that NICE's...
