    Libre issues

I was diagnosed last year and I’ve been using the LibreLink without any issues. However, all of a sudden it isn’t reading my BS properly. It seems always to be higher than my actual level. Should I change my current patch? Any advice or guidance welcome Dave

    Newbie recovering from coma

I got TID after diabetic ketoacidosis with a blood sugar of 70. I was in a psychosis and coma. I’m still very depressed and feel very vulnerable. I thought it was only kids that got this. It all happened so fast. At times I’ve even felt suicidal. I was so fit and yet it still got me. I still...

Diagnosed today type 1, scared and could use some advice.

Given how high you are I would shocked if you weren’t type 1. I’m newly diagnosed and had ketones I was 70 and above for days and lost 16 kilos in weight in a matter of days.A GAD test isn’t definitive, but DKA is almost certainly type 1 as it indicates no insulin.

    Husband has newly diagnosed diabetes

It looks more like type 1 to me with that BS. If it is he will be under the care of the diabetic care team

    Blood sugar

Hi Thanks for your reply. I was told my DKA was so severe that this is unlikely. I was unconscious for two days and had lost 16 kilos in weight

    Blood sugar

I should also say my body tells me a different story. Despite the diagnosis there is a part of me that thinks I either don’t have it or I’ll recover by myself. Dangerous I know, but it’s what I have been thinking

    Blood sugar

Hi I was diagnosed with type 1 around 2 months ago after a very severe DKA (BS 70). On a couple of occasions my BS has been below 4 and then when I test 15 mins later my BS has risen without me doing anything. Is anyone able to tell me how this could happen? Thanks for your help Dave

Type 1 Assessment meeting for Libre sensor

Every type 1 in Wales gets this system. I got diagnosed six weeks ago and I’ve had the Libre system for a month

    New to this

I agree. You aren’t type 2 if you are not producing insulin

    New to this

I agree. This is very unusual. Nearly 40% of type 2 are actually type 1

    New to this

It’s very unusual for type 2 to have DKA as they still produce insulinI have read so many type 2 get misdiagnosed, and are actually type 1. I’m not saying this has happened in your case

    Need support

Hi I’ve just been recently diagnosed after severe DKA with a blood sugar of 70. I’m on Lantus and Novorapid, which suits me. I’m still struggling to get within target and can go from from 16 to 3 in 1 hour. I know what you mean about feeling isolated. Thank heavens for the internet

    Libre 2 first impressions

I wouldn’t be without it. You have to pay for it?

How do you deal with misinformation?

Yes, I was diagnosed last month and people keep giving me diet advice. It drives me nuts

    First Month over

I have been diagnosed with type 1 after a severe DKA. I had the same problem re feeling shaky after a blood sugar of 70. My average is still double the normal range. I’ve been told to expect this for the first few months

    Newly diagnosed

I also had sore joints having only recently come out of hospital with a severe DKA due to undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. My diabetic care team told me this wasn’t unusual due to the high BS. I also have very blurry vision

    Terrified about everything!

Hi I’ve just come out of hospital after severe DKA (blood sugar of 70) and very low PH. Although, I’m much older than you I feel the same about being a type 1 diabetic. I feel like it’s come out of nowhere and finding it difficult to cope with. Have you tried the helpline? They have trained...
