Off topic! Non UK resident needing dentist?

Very off topic! If someone is on holiday in the UK and in need of a dentist, will this cost them a lot? And will they perform the work?

    Any symptoms?

Being extremely thirsty and urinating a lot is a shared symptom. For me, as a Type One, I had: Excessive hunger, excessive thirst, going to the toilet every 20 minutes, extreme weightloss, at first I have too much energy then suddenly slumped, slept most of the day! Thrush (Not nice!!) and my...

    Pre bed results

8.8, good going! I'm currently in burnout, so avoiding speaking of my levels currently, but normally I would be 6-8 before bed. I'd love to say 5, but I always snacked in the evening :hilarious:

    ....hooha over!!!

Won't join in with giving precautions or anything as I'm sure you're well aware what's good to do from here but massive well done!! And remember, just because you're not a diabetic anymore doesn't mean you can leave the forum. You're here for life ;):hilarious:

    18 year old daughter

Steroids increase sugar levels (as it makes our Adrenal Glands dump cortisol/glucose. Same as the 'dawn phenomenon we get sometimes.) Best advice would be to test her regular-ish, keep an eye on her levels. If after a little while it's still worrying, take her in for a blood test. Really hope...

    Vaping and Diabeties

I once bought a fairly cheap, cola flavoured vape juice. It's the only juice that's ever increased my BG's (but only very slightly). According to my friend who works in a vape shop: "Yeah all the liquids have sugar in it but it shouldn't affect your levels. If it does i'm pretty sure we do...

    Holiday

True! I love a buffet breakfast :hungry: (To OP): Little tips for this would be: Check the carb amount in the Yoghurt pots (If there are any!). If they're super high in sugar and low in protein, these will cause a fairly quick spike. If there is a decent amount of protein, it should be slightly...

Sudden need for much less insulin.. Finally an answer?

Glad to hear you're getting the treatment & answers you deserve! Hopefully, you'll know exactly what happened soon! I had a period of awful lows last year and was (incorrectly) diagnosed with Addisons Disease. Ended up on steroids that I didn't need for months before they ran the tests for it...

    Positive

Glad to hear you're feeling better! Good levels make me feel better, and when I'm high I just feel worse and it takes its toll. Really is a vicious cycle! Feel free to chat to me whenever you like, or even need a diabetes boost! I also highly recommend making a diabetes-based instagram...

Suddenly very insulin resistant and experiencing constantly high levels

Could be an infection you don't know about or something to do with your tooth! Also, make sure to use vials from a completely different box as it might be a bad batch potentially! My ratio is 1u:3g so I absolutely feel your pain. I've been through periods of resistance where I was on 1u:0.5g...

    Holiday

The heat could make you go higher or lower (I have a lot of hypo's in hot weather!) so make sure to keep an eye on your levels! Your best bet would be simple carbs to give you a steady release, but honestly you can eat whatever you like as long as you're injecting properly for it! Make sure...

Thank you! I admittedly feel like I could definitely learn more about Type 2, so may go and have a read on here about that too. Nice to meet you!

    New to the Forum!

I was amazed when I first tried it! My first couple of weeks on it (and with my CGM, miss that thing!) it started working after 15 minutes. It now works after about an hour, but still good stuff! And Tresiba is just a godsend because I usually do it before bed, but if I decide to leave it until...

    Going to Spain (Long term)

I think I've worded this all very wrong. I will not be claiming prescriptions here and mailing them to Spain. Just the insulin I already have here. Once I am out of the country I will not be getting prescriptions here. I just have a few boxes I would want to be sent over, rather than taking it...

    Going to Spain (Long term)

I meant Spanish prescription cost, and if they could mail the insulin I already had. Once I make the move, I won't be claiming another UK prescription that's for sure! Once out of the EU, I will be settled under my NIE there so under their healthcare system full time, thankfully!
