    Vitrectomy aftermath

Post vitrectomy, has anyone had any issues with their eyelid sitting lower than the other eye? I was told it could be a side effect, but left eye was fine.. right eye, isn't. It's not major but wondering if it's likely to go back to normal at some point or am I wonky for life lol!

I believe Glimp does work ok now, it's far too technical for me lol Are you on facebook? I've been in a group for Libre users for a while, we're from all over the world so an abundance of info swapped. There is also another group, I think they're called Libre Geeks and they would be able to...

Aaargh... Pulled Libre sensor off by accident :-(

Used Libre for 3 month now, i use Rock Tape in natural, blends in with my skin and stopped my nephews curiosity at pulling at his auntie 'torias button lol Tried skin tac wipes, ended up sticking to every bit of fluff possible, tried standard microporous tape and that gave me a rash and some...

    Retinopathy and vitreous bleeds

Mine have gradually almost been reabsorbed over time as Noblehead states, time does vary though and can be frustrating. My surgeon told me to sleep upright to let the bigger bleeds settle quicker. Saying that, it's one of the hardest things over tried to do. I shuffle down a lot in bed and...

    Freestyle libre

With regards to the improved control reducing future possible treatments on NHS, this was exactly my thinking! According to my reader, my HBA1c should be down by 1%, which should make me down from 8% to 7% (in old 'money' that is!) Aiming for my 6.5% again after a year of up and down with...

    Freestyle libre

I found the constant monitoring, particularly overnight a HUGE help as well... and I love the graphs, tracking back where it went skew whiff is far easier using this and made positive changes already.. exited for my next HBA1c! starting to sound like a bit of a knob now lol but hey, when...

    Freestyle libre

All the Rep advised was that it had gone through the trial stages and that it was being put through another stage now, which I believe is the final for NHS funding. Fingers crossed as with paying for this and the Noctura, it's getting a little tight in my pocket.. bit more tax relief would be...

    Freestyle Libre - Sensor only???

Could you not try just downloading it anyway? Or is it compatibility with a sensor you want to try? I have an iPhone (not compatible) and a Samsung S5 Neo, use it on my S5 and it's fine so far.

Approved A survey for type 1 diabetics or their parents.

Any idea why you can't put your age in on the surgery?... Asks for your or your child's age.. then in years box, it'll only let you go up to 18?

What age were you diagnosed Type 1?

Mine graced me with its presence aged 22 14yrs this year pfft! The day of diagnosis my blood sugars were 39.7mmols at hospital... My first question was 'oh, ok is that bad?' Lol [emoji23]

    Freestyle libre

I've started on it via a trial at the hospital. My first sensor is faulty and reading quite a bit out (4-6mmols) Rang them and they've sorted it, absolutely no hassle. Left the sensor on to get myself in the habit of scanning, such a god send and far more casual to do your bloods than whacking a...

Noctura Sleep mask for diabetic retinopathy

I was advised that it would help with the bleeds post purchase. When I have stopped using the mask temporarily after anti VEGF injections in one eye, the vision in my other eye blurred more again with the only change being the mask?. I would doubt my personal experience is psychosomatic but I...

Noctura Sleep mask for diabetic retinopathy

Just a quick update.. I bought the mask on Thursday. Used it Thursday night and last night. Following my surgery on 31st for laser PRP in theatre this time, my eye has bled twice. As a result, it reduced my vision in my left eye to almost nothing due to the blood obscuring it. Was signed off...

    Car insurance and Type 1

Thanks for all the advice and personal experiences! Decided to name and shame, the insurers are Dial Direct, who have been good to be fair with trying to get answers but ultimately it's the underwriters, Covea who enforced the increase and state that the reason for said increase is due to IF...
