Afternoon all! Just back from my checkup at the diabetic clinic, in some ways it was very successful, in others a bit of a failure, but c’est la vie! I’ll focus on the positives: I am to try the Libre again and now have it on prescription to do so, I have also had Fiasp added to my repeat...

MySugr app and its Hb1AC estimates

First of all, that’s a brilliant result! MySugr has turned out pretty accurate for me, was estimating my hbA1c as 41.6 and my hbA1c today was 42, but then I have been intensively testing, so it had loads of data to work with.

How would diabetes tech help those who face diabetes struggles?

Tech certainly makes things easier to a point. I *loved* having my Libre on, it gave me such an insight into what was happening, I found the information fascinating and it meant I could stop hypos in their tracks and try to stop massive spikes happening, it gave me information I could never...

What a day! Saw my GP this morning and have been signed off with depression and anxiety for two weeks and left armed with anti-depressants. Everything came to a head yesterday when I had the scariest anxiety attack of my life, woke up with my heart trying to come through my chest and sweat...

@MeiChanski That’s shocking, as you say you can’t be the only diabetic in the area prescribed it and it’s not like it keeps us alive or anything... I’m hoping to be changed from Novosluggish to Fiasp next week too.

Oh what I would give to eat that in a day! Cheese scones! *drool* I can’t wait for my appetite to return, a couple of weeks of food not appealing has been okay (as has the 9lbs weight loss) but I just want to go back to feeling ‘normal’ Massive congratulations on achieving a Unicorn Day too...

Morning all, I’m not saying ‘good’ as it’s Monday, it’s blowing an absolute gale out there & I had a pretty awful night, so I am a little grumpy. Woke with a 4 at 5.30 this morning so fired a Jelly Baby in, I’m obviously still fighting this bug whatever it may be and my anxiety is shot to...

Could preventing hypos in hospital reduce inpatient time?

Exactly this! I was in for monitoring for a few hours last month and was offered dinner, which I declined as I wasn’t risking my bloods going sky high from carb laden food I wouldn’t normally entertain as I was hell bent on not being kept in. Then I had a look at the menu for the next couple of...

Can you become immune to insulin????

Until I tried a Libre I thought everything was fine injecting my Novorapid 10 or so minutes before eating, however the Libre showed me that Novorapid had turned to Novosluggish with me and takes at least 45 minutes to kick in. I’m going to be asking about Fiasp at the diabetic clinic later this...

    Libre (in)accuracy on HBA1C

I just checked my Libre app for the estimated HbA1c and it’s showing 39, however I am not expecting an HbA1c anywhere near that as I found I was getting a lot of false lows while using it and I had whole nights where the Libre had me under 4, but finger tests had me sitting at 5.4 or so.

Morning! Room for another in here? Thought I had myself back on track yesterday after the past couple of weeks, but no, my stomach had other ideas about my dinner and I woke with a 13 *sigh* it’s down to 7 now and still coming down, but I could have done without it.
