    I remember running out of bloodsticks and when i asked for urine sticks (because i really really want to know what my bloodsugers are) the chemist said its a waste of time, he said urine sticks tend to be 6 hrs behind and so completely useless for a type 1.

    I always keep in the back of my mind that the average doctors and nurses interaction with diabetics will be type 2, so they do say silly things when talking to type 1s'. I guess thats why we get to have our own specialists.

    Injecting 7 times a day....how do I self fund a pump

    So, reading this thread a pump is the preferable option for a lot of type1 diabetics then? My specialist keeps telling me to go on an insulin pump, but I say no as i feel more in control with injections, maybe i should rethink it.

    What was everyone's blood when they go diagnosed?

    I lost 2 stone in weight and started being sick after i ate, MY Auntie Sadie noticed this(my granny died of type 2 complications) and decided to take me to the Dr where i was tested about 32, then i went straight to hospital. Im so glad she noticed as it could have been a lot worse.
