    Eye tests

I'm in Southampton and had my first eye test in Septemper and was told they were prioritising newly diagnosed like me or people that have serious issues that need to be seen more than once a year. It's going to take a while to catch up on everyone else. I'm glad I had mine as they found...

Is 4 hours too long for BG to lower?

The bread etc was after 4 hours as I only test before meals or exercise. I may have to start testing more often. It looks like I had a islet cell antibody level test and a glutamic acid decarboxylase Ab test. Both of which were normal according to the print out they gave me. I have got a...

Is 4 hours too long for BG to lower?

Normally the toast isn't too bad when i have it as I take my medication at the same time. Mind you we had a different bread this time which has a bit higher carb which may not have helped. The milk I've been drinking to try to maintain/ gain some weight as only weigh about 45kg and the doctor...

Is 4 hours too long for BG to lower?

I spoke to my doctor yesterday for the first time since March. He said he didn't do a C-peptide test but did 2 very similar so I'm definitely Type 2. Yesterday my morning fasting BG was 6.1, and I had one slice wholemeal toast with half an avocado and 2 fried eggs on with half a pint of milk...

    Weight gain advice

Finally spoke to my doctor today about this after asking the receptionist repeatedly to get him to phone me. He didn't do a C-peptide test but did 2 others that give the same information. They came back as me being definitely Type 2 which is a bit of a relief. He was also pleased with how much...

Is 4 hours too long for BG to lower?

I was diagnosed type 2 in beginning of February at the age of 36. I'm in the process of trying to get the doctors to give me a C peptide blood test to check if I'm LADA. I have had the antibodies test that came back normal but it was suggested on here to get the other test done just to make...

    Weight gain advice

I wouldn't mind adding a bit of mass back on mostly because I lost about a stone before my diagnosis so now all my clothes are a size too big. Spoke to my doctors today and they gave me a printout of all the tests I've had done since March. I haven't had a C-peptide test done so they've told...

    Weight gain advice

Definitely female. I do feel thin but then I always have and never been overly happy. I'd be happier if I weighed a bit more. I definitely need to build some muscle mass as well as it's nearly nonexistent! Another issue I've found is that even though thin any weight I put on goes straight to...

    Weight gain advice

I'm 150cm so a little bit shorter. The person that did did my review said I'm currently under weight and 51kg is the ideal weight for my height apparently. Though it was a pharmacist that did my review. I think I did loose about a stone of weight before my diagnosis which may be why they want...

    Weight gain advice

I had to google it when I was told so that's understandable. It's a type of dwarfism that causes very small weight at birth. I was 2lbs 8oz and 10 days overdue. It can also cause learning difficulties and deformities but mine is very mild so just a bit short.

    Weight gain advice

Hi, I was diagnosed Type 2 in February at the age of 36. I had only gone to the doctor to check for a genetic heart defect as my heart rate is quite fast. I always knew I was likely to develop diabetes as my mum, all 4 grandparents and great grandad have had it. I just wasn't expecting it quite...
