CGM. When do you see your sugar rise after/during a meal?

I was reading that sugar levels aren't supposed to start rising until 15 minutes after a meal. I am very very new to my diagnosis and everything is so new and a bit scary.

CGM. When do you see your sugar rise after/during a meal?

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well. I was wondering for people using dexcom or libre CGm, when do you see your sugar level start to rise? I stay within the allotted amount for the rise but I seem to start having my sugar move upward while I am still eating instead of 15 minutes post...

Question regarding recovery of health after diagnosis

I have had multiple CBC, lipase, liver and kidney function, CT scan, fibroscan, and endoscopy. I am having slightly looser stools than I am used to and food isn’t quite as digested at times. The scope diagnosed me with mild gastroparesis, but he didn’t state what he saw in my stomach, they...

Question regarding recovery of health after diagnosis

Thank you for the response! Not floating but somewhat smelly. I have started taking an OTC digestive enzyme which helps a little. I was having some indigestion and acid reflux but that has stopped due to prevacid. Before diagnosis I would have some more moderate carb days vs kind of eating...

Question regarding recovery of health after diagnosis

Hello All! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! I have been diagnosed for 7 weeks and on treatment for about 5-6 weeks. My A1C was 108. I have since gotten my numbers into a pre-diabetic/non-diabetic range. I have been having some GI issues and I am not on metformin. I have had many...

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

Ever since I was a young child I had naturally gravitated toward a lower carb diet with small and frequent meals. I would feel unwell after eating a more “normal” diet. As I got older trying to maintain that way of eating became more difficult and I began to suffer from nausea, anxiety, and...

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

I have experience with keto and so the dietary transition has been pretty simple for me. Isn't it amusing how a healthy diet for us is the opposite of dietary guidelines? Your photos look absolutely delicious!

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

@Mbaker Thank you for sharing your journey with me. It is making me feel more inspired and less hopeless! I was devastated upon my diagnosis. I felt I had destroyed my health and was destined for my health to continue to decline. I am happy I have found this forum and the wonderfully kind people...

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

@rosemaree I agree the pins/tingling and the cramps seem to be the last to go. For now I am trying to take it easy, I was enjoying getting back into exercising but I am on rest now due to the surgery. Thanks for the advice and kind words!

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

@Mbaker thank you for your reply. How long from your diagnosis until you were in remission? I fee like I might be pushing my body a bit too far at the moment. I’ve lost 30 pounds this past month, switched into ketosis, and lowered my blood sugars but I am still on a low dose of insulin due to...

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

@rosemaree Thanks for your response! That is exactly what I am dealing with right now! I am feeling somewhat better, it has only been 4 weeks since diagnosis to today. My sugars were on average 298. I am now in the 90-140 range depending on fasting or post meal. I am having tingles and burning...

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

I’m sorry you’re still dealing with your feet. That is one of my biggest concerns now. I feel like a stranger in my own body. To be fair I have seen major improvements in my labs and my BP is back within normal range. I just want to feel like me again, only healthier. Lol

Yes, I have many similar symptoms. It’s all a bit scary. Glad your symptoms got sorted.

Symptoms due to going from high sugars to much lower sugars quickly

Thank you for your response! It’s all so new and kind of scary. So many different systems interact with one another so it’s hard to pinpoint the different symptoms. I have seen the Endocrine and my primary care doctor. I am seeing GI doctor on Monday to check on liver since CT showed fatty...
