Long Covid. A support thread for those who take a while to recover from Covid-19

I also had a mysterious viral infection in March, almost certainly brought it home from school (am a teacher), never got tested, got told it can't possibly be covid since I only had some contact with a pupil who'd been skiing in Italy a few miles north of the hotspots back then, but then again...

    Metformin success

I got started on metformin a week ago after years of trying to manage on a very restricted diet and 5h cycling/jogging per week. Hb1ac was 5.5, so really still acceptable, but my fasting bg would only go below 120 on low-carb and after losing 16kg on Newcastle Diet over the summer (now BMI 25...

trying to get started on high fat

I suppose it is unusual, then, to feel badly nauseous after eating fatty foods, even in small quantities? I'd love to eat more nuts, or fish, or cheese, but can't really risk any more days off sick as my boss is getting annoyed. So back to mostly protein and hoping it won't harm my kidneys. GP...

trying to get started on high fat

Anyone with diabetes 2 feel worse after recovery from covid .

I only started low-carb long after presumably having had covid in March (no testing, back then). Used to be able to eat up the children's left-over pasta, now can't even have half an apple. Can't remember when it got that bad, but was alright before WFH and noticed I was in trouble when back at...

newcastle diet week 6 weightloss stalled?

I started the Newcastle diet after the diet advice I got from my GP failed to work: got fed up with my blood glucose levels one Thursday morning, found out about ND, bought a few tubs of some cheap diet drink powder, and that was it. Lost 30lb over the first five weeks, then kept getting nasty...

Type 2 pulses and low carb diet?

Tanks to everyone for their advice, I'm getting better at noticing what is good for me and what isn't, turns out lentils are not, but just knowing that others are struggling as well really helps me accept my fate.

Type 2 pulses and low carb diet?

I went low carb and low calorie some two months ago and finally got my fasting blood sugar nearly back to normal, but have been craving lentils and mushy peas recently. The general advice was to avoid starchy vegetables, but how about pulses? Any advice on how to add extra fibre to my diet?
