Would it be Worth having a band fitted to loose weight.

Only 55lbs to lose? I'd not risk it myself. I started with just over 200 lbs to lose and now about 155 to lose still. At no time has doc even discussed gastric options. Only knew one friend who got one fitted, and she piled a lot back on. She regrets her decision.

    Question about diabetes numbers

I started with a very similar HbA1c - 107, mid September. I've been going hell for leather in terms of diet (IF/LC mostly), exercise, supplements & medication ever since, and my numbers are very clearly going the right direction, and now I'm concerned they might be too fast. It all started...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

107 mmol/L, or 11.9 % in mid September. Not due to have second test until mid/end December. Have high hopes to get that WELL into single figures, considering I'm LCHF and IF most days.

Diabetes and sleep apnea linked to increased risk of macular edema

I suffer bad apnoea, certainly when I tested myself at home with a Withings sleep Analyzer and a continuous pulse oximeter, Lost weight since, so no idea how bad it is right now, but picking up a proper sleep study home test kit on Nov 1st. My eyes got worse 4 months ago, and recently, got a...

Losing 10 per cent of body weight doubles the chance of type 2 diabetes remission

I've 66% to lose, so hoping for some improvements beyond the 10% from my initial HbA1C of 107 mmol/L. Aiming for 10% loss initially after 3 months IF/LowCarb dieting.

Haven't measured in months and months. I've tripled.

Yup, I’m collecting the kit for the home sleep test next week. Using the Withings Sleep Analyzer, it was averaging 35 events per hour, that was 2 months ago.

Haven't measured in months and months. I've tripled.

Doc phoned already, one day after pee/blood draw/BP test. Says the diabetes test was slightly up, I'm to go in again for a fasting BG test on 1st Oct. Thyroid test was borderline, so another test for that in 3 months. That call was less bad than I thought it would be. But as you say, it's...

Yup, lower carb is what I've been doing to lose it, need to focus more on that. No more sugary or carby things in the house at least, I ate them all... got everything in to make low carb bread etc too.... almond and coconut flour, xanthan gum, erythritol, flaxseed, chia/pumkin/sunflower seeds...

Haven't measured in months and months. I've tripled.

OK, in preparation for a possible (but unlikely) test today, I ate a healthy no processed stuff and low carb meal yesterday (fasting afterwards), checked my readings, and they'd reduced to just over 14 mmol/L for the duration of the couple hours after the meal. Less, but still v.bad. Again, not...

I'm just concerned how long a proper test will take to arrange with doc/nurse. I've ordered some new strips, but those too will take until Mon/Wed next week to arrive. The 20 mmol/L reading scared me, I'm anxious about getting confirmation by doc ASAP.

Have ordered some, but won't be here until Mon to Wed next week. They're about 20 months past their use by, surely they'd not be THAT amount inaccurate? I'm using second drop of blood from finger to help isolate issues to do with my skin.

Haven't measured in months and months. I've tripled.

I'm very overweight (usually 275-330 lbs, but recently, let it get up to 362 lbs, I've had success but it comes and goes, I'm at 346 lbs again on the way down), and used to measure my glucose as a precaution, and have yearly doc checks also. Reading were between 4.5 and 6 mmo/l, depending on...
