    When to test

It's natural that you want to see what your body is behaving. If you are pricking your fingers very many times a day, driving up the cost of the strips, you might want to consider a continuous monitor like freestyle libre 2. It provides 14 days of continuous data, more informative than finger...

Is Intermittent Fasting for Type 2 Diabetes Good For You?

Just to share what I read a while ago: skipping breakfast may lead to higher chance of getting gall stones cos the gall has got the thickest bile in the morning from overnight and the bile gets out when digesting your breakfast. This may be something to look into when planning fasting..

Target for glucos control with medication

I totally agree, self-testing is needed, unless the patients or their family don't care. And we are not being obsessive ie. doing many tests everyday (so that his fingers don't get stabbed too much. In some countries it is greatly encouraged by medical staffs to self-monitoring. Now I am...

Cold feet. High glucos after supper

Thx for your reply. We were told we still need to eat those basic stuff i.e. rice, bread, pasta, corn, and fruit, but in smaller portions, and what we do is that if corn is to be added to a meal, than less of the others e.g. rice. I read that one cannot go totally carbs free, and only a couple...

Cold feet. High glucos after supper

Hello, I have 2 questions here: 1. I noticed my other half (type 2) have cold feet all the time. Putting on winter socks on does not make them any warmer. Strangely above the ankles the lower calf still feels warm. Is this related to diabetes i.e. due to poor blood circulation? What should we...

There is one count -hba1c - that reflects your AVERAGE blood sugar level in the past 3 months or so. If that's too high then I'd think that definitely means something is wrong. in some countries patients will also be checked on fasting blood sugar level and 2 hrs after taking a measured amount...

After taking Metformin for a couple weeks (this week on 1000mg/day), morning sugar level has been on 7.0 or so (before meal, i.e. fasting). How good is this level? Is it considered good control of my sugar level? Or should I aim to keep it even lower? (age is about 60). :woot::woot::woot:
