    Finger prick tests wildly different

My gp decided against keto because they're worried about the knock on affect to my liver and have said they generally stay away as its not sustainable and you need carbs and theats what fuels your brain. I love carbs and have limited portions, I rarely eat rice or pasta but if I do theyr never...

    Finger prick tests wildly different

Thank for for the detailed reply. That makes a lot of sense.. as often I will get the higher number but not sure what to record as they're all different! I think like you said I need to work on overall lower numbers and not fixate on the number itself! Many thanks.

    Finger prick tests wildly different

Hi all. I've had type 2 diabetes for 6 years, spurred on after a prolonged infection from an operation. Since Christmas I have been testing my sugars after a stressful and chaotic year 2024 and my hba1c rocketing to 78. I've managed to get it down to 60, still working on getting between...

    HbA1c levels

Hi all, I've been on my diabetes journey for a few years now and I'm getting the hang of it slowly. I've accepted that I need medication. I think the stigma and the feeling that I'd failed was putting me off. I felt like I wasn't doing "well enough" and medication was admittance of that. I now...

Thanks you I will definitely been looking at these! Side note, has anyone found since going on a low carb diet that their sugar spikes drops a lost faster? I’ve just gone down from 14 to 9.6 in 2.5 hours! Normally that would have stayed spiked for at least 1/2 a day!

    Type 2 diabetic (kind of)

Hello! Popping back in here, I’ve recently found out that if I eat carbs it spikes my sugars higher than if I eat sugar. For example chocolate spikes me only a little but donuts will spike me over 7mmol.. Has anyone else found this or know why this could be?

    Type 2 diabetic (kind of)

Am i correct in saying as a rule of thumb when Indulging I shouldn't go above 10mmol? Because half a wrap takes me up to 9.3.. so carbs just really aren't the way for me [emoji17] I had a very small scone and cream, no jam and I went from 6.4 to 9.6 [emoji17]

    Type 2 diabetic (kind of)

In my quest to find what I can and can't eat I've found I can have a small amount of sweet potato fries but normal fries are very off limit! I was 14.8 at 9pm (started at 6.4) after trying a small amount of normal fries today and now just tested again 8.4. This is the fastest drop I've seen. Is...

Does nylons know how how your sugars have to get to start causing damage, I’m finding conflicting information online. My sugars have been in range for a week now and I tried a panini while out, usually I’m very low carbs or try to be as I find carbs have more affect than sugar for me. And I felt...
