    It hit me

Things progressively got worse and today was the worse day ever. The past few weeks I've been so depressed. Crying at everything. Not wanting to go anywhere or do anything. I'm supposed to be hosting Xmas day and hadn't bought anything at all. Today I pushed myself to go shopping. Got all round...

    It hit me

Levels have been ok since I'm not working, no stress. A little high but I've had a cold. Upped my basal today by 2 units and see how that goes. Think stressing about Christmas and work got the best of me. Now I'm taking time out for me. Money isn't everything and Christmas will be ok. Thank you...

    It hit me

Spoke to diabetes nurse today and cleared a few things up. As long as I drink in moderation and eat carbs before I go to sleep I should avoid a dip. Bolus for any extras. Think split bolus might be best for chocolates?

    It hit me

Had a telephone consultation with a Dr. Not really feeling any better for it. He said medication would take a while to get into my system and often people feel worse before it gets better. Talking therapy sounded ok but there is a month waiting list. He suggested ringing diabetes centre, don't...

    It hit me

I started being irrational about a month ago. Thought it was due to a sad anniversary due. I quit my job that I loved but my reasons really were important at the time. They wouldn't let me use my holidays as they were short staffed. I instantly decided to look for another job. While waiting to...

    It hit me

We try to think we have it in the bag and it's everything else that is affecting us. I've been totally different since being diagnosed. I've always been someone that is level headed, would normally take time to decide and always watching the pennies. Since diagnosis I'm less bothered about them...

I've not really given Covid much thought. Still interact with friends and family the same way.

    It hit me

This last couple of months I've been very irrational. Making serious snap decisions without much thought. I quit a job in October to start another that I requested to be dismissed from yesterday. Reasons I originally processed were nothing to do with diabetes. I've normally got my house kitted...

Talk to me about your smart watch

I have been using Diabox and getting CGM like data on my phone and smart watch without needing to scan. Of course I still need to scan every 8 hours for the Libre app. I'm using Android phone, no need for a bubble while using UK version of libre 2. Diabox can share data with wear os smart...

    Alien in my arm

I'm just guessing at the moment. Last night while trying to sleep, I could feel something kinda sharp protruding from my arm. It was next to my sensor so I'm thinking a previous area. I squeezed and picked until something came out. Looks like dead skin. Anyone ever experienced this?

Couple of trivial Libre points - swabs and 14 days

Would you use an alcohol wipe to finger prick? I never did, I just give the area a wipe with a flannel and tap it dry before placing sensor. They are quite inexpensive to buy if you want them though

Arm hurting under FreeStyle Libre sensor

It's happened 3 times since yesterday and wore off again. A bit like having a splinter, hurts when moving yes. I'll stick it out. Only got to hold on till Friday night. Just annoying as we don't like to waste them and I don't fancy the trouble contacting Abbott
