Emotional Eating Borderline/T2 on Keto diet

I buy big bags of different nuts and seeds, mix them and bag them up into little portions for him. If I don't, he will eat a whole big pack at once. He's a ****** for pork scratchings too. 6 little packs in a day has him stinking out the toilet :yuck:

Emotional Eating Borderline/T2 on Keto diet

Need help for hubby again. He's been diagnosed with depression (medicated for more than a year now) and has always had a big appetite (going back to a tough childhood) and I worry about his emotional eating which has been worse lately. He's mostly stuck to the Keto diet (his belly exploded...

    Complaint reply from NHS

Hubby doesn't get free prescriptions. It says elsewhere in their report that it's just for diabetic type 1's and type 2's on medication, Thankfully my hubby has managed to reduce his HbA1c to 47 from 54 in 5 months with diet alone. We know he is in "remission" and will carry on with the keto...

    Complaint reply from NHS

So hubby found out this year that he's been diabetic for 2 years. Dr's didn't tell him! We complained to NHS England and got a reply from our local GPs surgery who effed up. Among it was a statement saying "Clinicians should aim to involve people in decisions about their individual HbA1c target...

Hubby new to diabetes type 2

Thank you all for your replies. It's a great relief to be able to get help from people who KNOW what they're talking about!! We didn't know about the Dawn Phenomenon, or the 1.6/2mmol/l after meals. We've just been going on the "not over 8.5" advice. I will tell him he's on the right track...

Hubby new to diabetes type 2

I'm posting for my hubby as he doesn't "do" computers and I found out recently from our GP's receptionist, that he's been a type 2 diabetic since late 2019. (NHS England complaint made). We got some help already from here (thank you) and are both slowly adopting a Keto diet. Him, more than me...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hubby is new to all this (and a luddite lol). He's trying to control it via diet (mostly keto) and this morning his bg was 6.1. I'm assuming that's good? Even 2 hours after eating, he's not gone above 11.1.

    Best Sugar Substitute

What is the best sugar substitute for cooking with? I had a look in the supermarket and Stevia sweeteners seem to have very little Stevia in them. I don't bake very often, but I'd still like to occasionally, sugar free of course. TIA

    Not told about Diabetes

Hubby spoke to the Diabetic Nurse on monday, via phone. He said she was lovely. He told her about the situation and she said "oh you poor love!" so it's nice to know there's some staff there with empathy! She made an appointment for him tomorrow afternoon to have his blood pressure and feet...
