    Pump to mdi advice

Hi I’m coming off tandem pump for a few weeks whilst skiing. I can’t remember advice from nurse re temp basal rate etc when I make the switch! Does anyone know what the standard practice is. I am sure she said something about reducing the temp basal rate first before doing background insulin.

    Type 1 and Teacher

Hi there, I’m primary and feeling the same way as you. I’ve just looked at the gov guidance (pretty useless) but it definitely does say if you are clinically vulnerable, which we are, you should not leave house unless you must and to socially distance as much as possible. With the impossibility...

When I had a meeting with an obstetrician at around 16 weeks pregnant she told me I had to do a glucose tolerance test even though she knew I was type 1!? I refused obviously and to,d her I already knew I did not 'tolerate' glucose! [emoji85][emoji85][emoji30]

    What is the point?

^^ I agree.. I did this for YEARS for the same weight reason, I think looking back I needed serious help with it psychologically I felt like I was injecting fat into me. I still have that at the back of my mind, but 2 years ago I lost my eyesight for a good 6 weeks and I'm remember thinking how...

Is it possible to have successful 2nd pregnancy with eye issues?

Hi pitsgate, it's so frustrating not getting definitive answers isn't it! Different consultants say different things Don't they? I'm similar to you with no more room for laser, the retinopathy seems to be ok, but it's just this macular edema which I can't get rid of. Do you have that too? I...

    What is the point?

Hi mangle, I still feel like that some days. I was diagnosed age 7 and all was fine until I reached 17/18 then for the next 8/9 years I didn't bother. I didn't do tests and pretended all was fine. I really get how you feel, but try to change your thinking. You can only do it for you, love...

Type 1 Do I need to take my bra off???

I had an ECG about a year or so ago and I had to take my top off, but kept on my bra. He had to put the wires sort of in the bra due to placement (at the very top / side) but I didn't have to take it off.

    vitrectomy during pregnancy,please help!!

Thanks @himtoo, hi altec. Yes I went through very similar experience during my pregnancy 2 and a bit years ago. For me, the macular edema progressed quickly and at around 5 months pregnancy I was signed off from work as I couldn't drive / see much. The retinopathy progressed too and bled at...

    Fatigue

Hi totto, I'm not sure! I don't ever see the results (I must ask for a copy) they just tell me whether things are ok. Funny you mention the piturity, it swelled during pregnancy and this is what caused my adrenal insufficiency although that has now gone, I wonder if it is working as it was...

    Fatigue

Hi catlady, thank you for your advice. I can sympathise as I already think my doctor doesn't take my symptoms very seriously and sometimes I think they assume it can't be that bad as I still work. The most frustrating thing is being told having a child is tiring, It's just not the same as being...

how to deal with primary school

Ps something that you could have to monitor this sort of thing is a log book, get them to log every blood test, insulin given, hypo (and how it was treated), high etc with times, in a daily book that comes home.

how to deal with primary school

Wow..Disgusting, the school should legally have a medical plan for him in place which you have agreed and that they follow. They are being negligent, it's their duty of care.poor you, you must be so angry. I would write to the head, the governors and the staff involved directly, they can't have...
