    Usual brunch. Teatime 1 dry cracker. Dinner - a stew made from leftover beef, aubergine, green tomatoes, courgettes, mushrooms and leeks. No sign of any chocolate tonight.

    I also have jet-engine-induced tinnitus. It improved hugely once I got my hearing aids and is merely a trivial annoyance now.

    Are you testing your blood glucose readings. If so, you have time to play with your diet before your appointment and see what results that brings. You have control over this.

    Low Carb diet and Lactose intolerance

    I'm not lactose intolerant, but my usual keto diet would accommodate it if I left out yoghurt, cheese and butter. So - protein sources meat fish and eggs, any green vegetables, would all be okay.

    I am on heart meds and my diet-controlled BG went from 5s to 6s once I started taking them. Check with the information leaflet if your drugs do this.

    Reassuring to know

    I had side effects after taking a statin that I hadn't had before, and when I was taken off it and put on a different statin, the side effects went away, so being logical says they were caused by the statin. I seem to be unaffected by the second statin.
