    Neuropathy HELP

@KennyA wow that's such a low number to have neuropathy isn't it?! At least that's what I've been led to believe. Well done for bringing your levels down through diet. I just think I must be really unlucky to have autonomic/sensory neuropathy this soon in? @Jordi77 sorry to hear about your...

    Neuropathy HELP

HI guys, Just wondering if there's anyone else out there like me? I've got MODY (triggered and identified during pregnancy in 2016). My Hba1c at diagnosis was 54. I've got no way of knowing if my sugars were running high before this but I do know I never had symptoms until I was pregnant and...

    Hypo without warning

This happened to me recently and I assumed it was a hypo and ate a load of glucose tablets I had on me. Then it happened again a week later and I realised it was actually my blood pressure dropping too low! Feels awful and worse than a hypo. Exactly as you describe above.

    Neuropathy advice

@jp619 thank you so much for this post as it might explain what is going on with me! Been told I have small fiber neuropathy due to my diabetes but only been diagnosed for 7 years (5.5 at time of onset) and have all the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy too! My hba1c's have ranged from 32-54 with...

Has anyone had any side effects from taking Lantus?

Has anyone had any side effects from taking Lantus? I've been on it for the best part of 7 years but in the last few years have developed debilitating symptoms which are exactly like autonimic neuropathy. Extreme fatigue and nausea are bothersome at the moment. Should note that my hba1c's...

Does anyone have experience with taking Forxiga?

Thanks guys! My latest hba1c was 46 so it's not really to improve control so much but I am stuck at my current weight which I am not happy with and know this can help some to lose weight by reducing insulin dosage.

Does anyone here take Forxiga or has taken it previously? Are the side effects common/troublesome?

What does diabetes usually damage first?

Well I am a bit of a medical mystery. I have had diabetes for 7 years now. MODY gene triggered during pregnancy but caught with a hba1c of 54. All my other hba1c's ever since have been in the 30s and 40s with only one other in the 50s in the 7 years. Most recent was 49. I have a whole host of...

    Please help re neuropathy!

@TriciaWs my feet have a burning sensation which is progressively getting worse. I've also had the restless legs and a faint tingle in my hands. Have you found relief from it? My folate was 2.1 the first time I was deficient and 3 the next. It was 6.6 at last check but who knows how long it will...

    Please help re neuropathy!

    I have taken the time to write down my hba1c's since diagnosis for other people's interpretations. The more frequent results correspond with pregnancies; July 2016 - 54 Sept 2016 - 42 June 2017 - 41 April 2018 - 34 March 2019 - 37 June 2019 - 34 August 2019 - 32 Oct 2019 - 34 May 2020 -...

How long did it take you to develop neuropathy?

I'm not even sure my nerve pain is a result of diabetes due to length of time I've been diagnosed and consistent good control. However, curious who else has neuropathy, what body part it effects and how long it took to develop as a result of diabetes?

    Please help me understand this!

@HSSS yes I'm in the UK, are you? I've been on and off supplements for 3.5 years since having my second child so I've given them a good go. I know my area will offer infusions if iron is as low as 8. Mine is 6 at the moment so I was able to be referred. Still waiting for a call though! I hope...

Does this sound like peripheral neuropathy?

Hi @jp619 how are you now? I too am considered well controlled, been diagnosed as diabetic for the last 7 years but have the burning/vibrations/tingling in different patches all over my body. Doctors are finding it difficult to explain.

    Please help me understand this!

Thank you so much for this @HSSS! That first link listing all the iron deficiency symptoms was so interesting! I had no idea that nausea could be from iron deficiency. My transferrin saturation is also 6.5% and has never been above 20 like it should. I was referred for an iron infusion...

What Hba1c level do you aim for?

@DEBBIESCOTT I was also diagnosed as gestational during my first pregnancy in 2016. Hba1c was 54 but wasn't medicated - came on accutely and nearly ended up in DKA. Told I was Type 1 and 2 before MODY testing was done. I have been offered oral meds but I was used to insulin and think it gives...
