Re: Dafne pump course I really enjoyed Dafne too. I got so much from it. BUT the absolutely best thing about it was sitting in a room with people doing the same as me (b.g checks and injections :clap:) and not taking any notice. We were all equals :lol: :lol:

I've been on the Animas Vibe for about 8 months and I didn't know about changing the active insulin time. I'd prefer to do this, I find that quite often, I have to add an extra bolus as the pump won't let me have enough insulin. I'm going to check my manual and change the time length, or will...

Well Danny, it could be worse, they used to advertise a fetching plastic and metal device that fitted over the offending article, then you switched it on and it created a vacuum which blew the old fella up (or something like that!) There are advantages for being female after all :lol: :lol:

Oh, what fun we had years ago!!! The scalpel for finger pricks hurt sooo much, my fingers would be sore for days! I was very lucky, in that when I was expecting my first baby, the blood glucose meter had been invented, and I borrowed one from the hospital. The very loud beep was so embarrassing...

Too late to make a useful comment, but I re-use my cartridges as I HATE the drug companies 'chuck-away' practices. When I got T1, almost 40 years ago, we used an enormous metal needle over and over. This mentality stuck with me, and I will re-use anything, if it seems safe and healthy to do so!!!!

I've been on the Animas Vibe pump for a couple of weeks now. When I download my info, it takes several minutes and means I miss at least 3 basal 'shots'. Does anyone else have this problem?

The original meters look very high tech compared to the awful enormous glass syringes, which were kept in a blue (I think) plastic 'tube' full of some type of spirit. The needles were as thick as knitting needles (well, maybe not!) and I'm sure they weren't changed often as they were stored in...

I hadn't noticed the battery low symbol until yesterday, so no idea ow long they would last. Bayer say 'batteries last a year'! I told them they were discriminating against people who have no hypo awareness. They decided I could have more batteries but because this is going to be a time...

I sometimes feel I might be low, test on my right hand and get a normal reading..maybe around 6, then try my left hand and get a reading of below 4. This is explained away by not washing hands before testing which COULD be true!!! :oops:
