Right, I've went down the surrender route. I've also done the medical consent form too although I didn't have to. If I don't surrender, it would 100% be revoked, and you can't drive under section 88 if it has been revoked. This way, if I don't have a seizure between now and the 19th of...

    Quandary

I have already declared it over the phone. This is what I found.... The benefit of surrendering your licence If you surrendered your licence, you may be able to start driving again as soon as you reach the seizure-free period, as long as your doctor confirms that you meet the medical...

    Quandary

I had a seizure as a result of the hypo, wife woke to me flapping about and called ambulance. I believe it falls under provoked seizures. Although there is a statement about the overriding factor is the safety of other road users. My dsn has encouraged me to make a case, I had a brain scan...

    Quandary

So, I posted on another thread about my nocturnal hypo seizure a week ago. The hospital consultant said something about not driving for 12 months, but I phoned the dvla and they said 6 months. Better, but still a bit ****. Anyway, to confuse me even more, I have the option of surrendering my...

    2021/22 season

New here, love this thread. My tuppence on this weekend as an Aberdeen fan is that I hope dodgy Dave (Cormack) has a promotion clause in Scott McKennas transfer to Forest. And that I hope him and Andy Robertson get through the weekend uninjured with Wednesday on the horizon.

    Freestyle libre 2 problems

I too am being moved onto the libre. Previously didn't meet criteria, but my funny turn has changed that. Are the NHS rolling out the 3 yet? I have a huawei p30 Pro and gt watch 2 so trying to figure out if I'll need to change my set up.

    1st seizure

Just a little update. Called dvla medical advice line (not a 5 min job) and spoke to a nice lady. Explained exactly what happened and have been told to stop driving for 6 months. Still ****, but it's better than a year, and at least I'll not be standing at bus stops through the worst of...

    1st seizure

My wife will drive both cars to keep them ticking over. I'm determined there will be no more events. Where I previously had little fear of hypos, they are now the enemy!

    1st seizure

Thank you, and to everyone for the advice. I'd take provoked seizure at this point. 6 months is doable. Weather will be decent mostly. I live 30 miles from work and hate buses with a passion

    1st seizure

They logged it as a witnessed seizure. I'm getting more advice tomorrow on how I contact the dvla. It's not abundantly clear how to go about it. I'd like to argue my point that it's a one off. I had stopped seizing by the time the ambulance was here, but it was obvious what had happened.

    1st seizure

They did do an ecg, mri etc, which was fine, but my white blood cell count was quite high. Said something about an infection but there's nothing obvious going on in that respect. I'll add that I'm pretty sure I double dosed, but my memory is haywire!

    1st seizure

I'll look into that, it is something I've heard of. Being fast tracked for a libre too. Was kinda meandering towards one anyway. Hoping I'll get my confidence back. My last a1c was 6.3 and been 10+ all week and feeling like ****

    1st seizure

Jeez, you would think you'd heard it all in 3 decades. I had no idea this was a thing, or seizures tbh. I know about comas but I'd never tested lower than 3.6 in my life. A1c was 6.3 last time. My confidence is gone

    1st seizure

Thanks for that tip. I'll try anything to stop this happening ever again.

    1st seizure

I usually take it around 9pm, so if I took it twice, the second would have been 10/11pm. Pretty much all Friday is a haze. It's scary not just for me, my wife is strong but this has shook her up

    1st seizure

Thanks for the welcome. Lantus low? What's that? I've been on it for a good 15 years and it's been fine tbh. Well, until I injected myself with 96 units in one evening

    1st seizure

Hi, This is my 1st post here... T1 for 27 years. Generally OK, well controlled, no drama. Until Friday that is. My wife was awoken to me having a seizure at 2am. I have no memory of it at all, or anything for the next 12 hours. Pretty sure I'd taken my lantus twice. I have always had good...
