Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

I am actually now feeling very ashamed and embarrassed about starting this thread, my reason for doing so was to ask about how eating once a day might affect my Diabetes control now that I am on insulin and only eating at a certain time of day, I really never meant it to be about my financial...

Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

Hi Sue, not sure if its because I live in a small town that really doesnt have many facilities that the ones that are here are forced to ration so strictly, but I understand it and would sooner it go to the homeless or folks with a family to feed, Social services might be an idea :)

Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

Thanks for your reply PenguinMum, I'm actually a T2 on Insulin and as such dont qualify for a lot of things, (such as the Libre) I actually volunteered for many years at a church based homeless shelter so know first hand the strict criteria they use for weeding out the free loaders and believe...

Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

Thank you Antje77 for explaining the twice a day that is being suggested to me, it really helps to be more prepared when I speak to GP on Wednesday, it would have been great if I was offered a face to face appointment to help me understand more clearly, but my GP surgery keeps GP appointments to...

Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

Thank you both for your replies, EBe66, yes I guess we are all different in how we find ways to manage our condition, I have taken pills for over 12 years, but they just stopped working and I was swapped to Insulin , and now its all about injecting/testing/what I eat, I have had quite a few...

Anyone else eating just one meal a day?

For quite some time after insolvency, I have only been able to afford to eat one meal a day on my £30 a week grocery allowance. I am on 24 units per day of Tresiba Insulin, my fasting bg is always around 14, (it was in the high 20s before Tresiba) then drops to around 11 mid afternoon. I eat at...

Advice after Lymph node removal please

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. I feel reassured that my natural inclination not to use the affected arm is correct and I would really like to try the Libre but my GP has point blank refused it, stating that it is only available for Type 1's, but if the NICE...

Advice after Lymph node removal please

I had a radical mastectomy 11 years ago and had all lymph nodes removed from the arm on that left side. I was told, no blood pressure, no needles or IV on that arm or hand, and if I were to injure that arm or hand, to get antibiotics asap. Over the years I have managed to follow these...

Which Insulin pen did I open?

I really apologise Jaylee, I wrongly assumed from Xshtiek's reply {Hi Jaylee, I can tell that you are a little stressed about going on Insulin, don't worry, it's a good thing, it works much better than the pills and is more flexible.} that you were a fellow newbie to Insulin like myself :) I...

Which Insulin pen did I open?

Thank you for your replies and sorry for not responding earlier, my grand daughter has been here, It seems I've been stressing too much about an opened pen, you put my mind at rest that the worst that could happen is that it just won't work. Fenn you did make me laugh and I probably am just as...
