    Hi there know exactly what you mean about covid affecting taste buds, and the salty/bitter thing, plus loss of smell at some stage with me. My saviour then was having a hot Bovril drink, which really didn't taste as salty as expected, but the fact I could taste it was wonderful. Covid also...
