    Totaly agree with above, I was diagnosed with T1 2-3 years ago, wss very hard to come to terms with it, as although I was abit overweight I wasnt unhealthy.i just couldn't get my head round the fact that their was nothing I could do to change anything. But over time it has got better a good diet...

    Type 1 -Testing per day

    My fingers are red raw from testing, but to me now its how I help to control my type 1.I guess I can test 10--20times a day

    1st diabetic holiday - advice needed

    Definitely keep it with you, put your "spare" in a clear resealable bag, make sure the box/packaging is unopened. You will need a letter from gp or nurse, TBH any event, gig or foreign hol I go on I always take an official letter, never had any issues or problems

    Have you had trouble getting test strips?

    Not yet, although the receptionist has got crabby with me when I once went in desperate as I was running low, after I told her exactly what I thought about her opinion my gp sorted a prescription

    how high and how low have you been?

    Ive been as high as 33, just recently after a change of diet I have gone as low as 2.5 during the night.I'm averaging about 6 through the day.ive been type 1 for about 2 years now and really do recommend a healthy diet does help control it.easier said than done I know
