    Overwhelmed and defeated newbie T__T

Hi @Antje77, I usually pre-bolus 10-15 minutes before the meal, with Fiasp. I guess pre-bolusing is something that everyone has always told me I should do, so I never thought about this. But it's a really good point, I will give it a try at my next meal. Thank you so much,

Hi @hellobear007, thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry to hear that, hope things get better soon! I will ask my GP about this. Oh I haven't yet, but I will try this tonight. I admit I often forget to look at the glycemic index of foods, but it sounds like a good place to start! And I'll...

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words @Juicyj! Totally, I really hope I can get to a point where diabetes is not consuming every moment of my day. My mental health wasn't great even before the diagnosis, hence the struggling I think. Thank you for sharing your experience, very...

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with Type 1 last summer, still very overwhelmed. Sorry about the long post! I'm on daily injections and Dexcom. I feel that despite my best efforts, and reading and educating myself, I haven't been able to figure out my correct basal dose nor insulin-to-carb ratio...

Dexcom G7/G6 and flying - xray machines

@Glucobabu from their official website ("Safety information"): "The Sensor should be removed prior to exposing it to an X-ray machine. The effect of X-rays on the performance of the System has not been evaluated. The exposure may damage the Sensor and may impact proper function of the device to...

Is Basal amount the same with different types of insulin?

I switched from Levemir to Tresiba a few months ago, I added up my 2 doses of Levemir (let's say 10u AM and 10u PM = 20u) and did the same of Tresiba in one go (so 20u). BUT I know some doctors suggest starting a bit lower at first to avoid hypos, I personally had no issues and set up alarms in...

Dexcom G7/G6 and flying - xray machines

I carried a note from my GP with my diabetes diagnosis and explained that the sensors could not go through the X-ray machines. They hand searched me instead. Once (in London I think) they also insisted and swabbed all my sensors, which I don't think they should be able to do with unopened...
