    Ice packs in with insulin…

No photo I’m afraid! The insulin is in a thin card box, no other packaging as it’s vials of insulin. The boxes were inside bubble wrap which I forgot to mention before. So I hope it is ok. I will keep a very close eye on my bloods when I use it for the first time. Thank you for the reassurance!

    Ice packs in with insulin…

I recently signed up to have my prescriptions delivered to me at home. When the insulin arrived the ice packs were next to the insulin inside the insulated pouch. I was always under the impression that the ice shouldn’t be directly next to the insulin? They obviously do this a lot, but it made...

    Car hypo treatment

I always have dextrose tablets on me. I have packs in the car, all over the house, at work! They work quickly and I’m not too keen on the taste so there isn’t any temptation to eat them. They usually have a good lung expiry date on. Jelly babies are also recommended but I would just eat them if...

    Getting a pump

Personally I have the Medtronic Minimed 780G with CGM and I really like it. This is the third pump I have had and it’s definitely the best I have used. Whichever pump you choose, it can be difficult to adjust to, but it’s worth the effort. Good luck with your new pump Niamh1!

    Calling Worcestershire Pump Users!

Thank you for responding Juicy J! I suspected that a lot of patients might put the sharps in the general waste, and that has been incredibly tempting over the years! It would certainly save me a lot of anxiety and hassle. I’m going to keep pushing for a better solution. I know I’m putting...

    Calling Worcestershire Pump Users!

Hi, I’m new here so please be gentle?! I have been on pump therapy for 8 years. The infusion sets for my Medtronic pump do not fit into a 1 litre bin so I have 5 litre bins on prescription. The whole time I have been on a pump I have had to fight to get someone to take the full bins off me. The...
