    Albumin/Creatinine ratio up from 4 to 10

Sorry, I should clarify that. They tested Creatinine and also Albumin, separate tests, then came up with a ratio figure

    Albumin/Creatinine ratio up from 4 to 10

They have done a test for urine Albumin/Creatinine ratio. The ratio has come out at 10, should apparently be below 2.9

    Albumin/Creatinine ratio up from 4 to 10

Last December my ACR was 4, newly diagnosed as Type 2, HbA1c was 52, and I decided to follow a LCHF diet. Came off the diet late February, as I was having surgery, but my HbA1c had dropped from 52 to 40. Now its time to get back on the diet, my GP has run bloods and my HbA1c is up to 44. Fair...

    Atorvastatin and Cholesterol of 6.6

My previous GP did some kind of calculation, and came up with 1%, but I don’t know what figures he worked from. The one this morning just seemed to take a guess based on what he thought he would get away with. Thanks for the research papers, I’ll have a good read later.

    Atorvastatin and Cholesterol of 6.6

I was diagnosed Type 2 towards the end of last year, HbA1c was only 51, so rather than go the drug route I went on a low carb diet and reduced it to 40 over 3 months. I chose to come off the low-carb for 3 months, due to knee surgery, and my HbA1c is now 44, which I still don't think is too...

    Newly diagnosed with Type 2

Re Dr Moseley, I got the Fast 800 Diet book, and the recipe book to go with it. The diet book makes a lot of sense, low carb diet, exercise etc., but the recipes focus on low calorie rather than low carb, which I found slightly confusing given the content of the Fast 800. I’m just doing low...

    Newly diagnosed with Type 2

This forum is really great. I'm doing low carb, have battled with misleading information from a diabetic nurse and a clinical pharmacist. My HbAc1 was only 51, the GP has told me I can reverse it, and has agreed no drugs, we will re-check everything in 3 months. Stick with the low-carb and...

    ACR 4mg/mmol - should I be medicating?

So, I was diagnosed type 2 on November 28, HbA1C was 52, 51 a week later, my cholesterol is high at 6.6, but I immediately went on a low carb diet, and so far have lost 10lbs, having fallen off the wagon a bit over Xmas and New Year. However, my ACR has come back at 4mg/mmol, and my GP surgery...

    Diabetic eye check

First, thank you to everyone who responded to my first post before Xmas. Now I have questions. Can anyone tell me how long after initial diagnosis I should have my first eye check? I'm being told I have to wait a year, which seems odd when they are running tests to check my kidneys etc.

Newly diagnosed T2 lacking support and info

Yes, my nurse gave me the phone number for the local X-PERT health people, they are full and there will be no more places until next March, so I'm steering my own ship for now ... The low-carb diet is going really well though.

Thank you so much for the fast response and encouragement! What is the best type of meter to get, please? Or are they all the same?

Newly diagnosed T2 lacking support and info

Hi all. I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes last week, no symptoms other than tiredness, so a total shock. My medical "team" is a diabetes nurse who wants to put me on insulin etc etc. I have agreed to statins as my cholesterol is so high, but my A1c was 52 at the first blood test, dropped 51 to...
