    Hit a real low.

Lots of good ideas for low carb snacks, I'll suggest a couple more in case you like the idea of either of them. Tinned fish, eg mackerel. Satisfying and good for the brain too. Corned beef. Like fish, a tin keeps for ages. Good luck for tomorrow!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks @philly1991 I'm struggling with most of life but the specific problem above is that I hate eating in the mornings, in fact my body isn't comfortable with food until about 4pm. But eating a snack when I get up stops my liver producing more glucose. I don't want double figure BGs all day...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

11.0 Forcing down (didn't gag but it was unpleasant) some pâté dropped it to 9.0 in an hour. Need to keep up this habit no matter how much I hate it. Packing to do, hubby has decided instead I must devote myself to paperwork and admin. Not Going To Happen, I'll pack it but it may well return...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

My mum's plum tree is very bountiful this year. I'm hoping she doesn't give me too many next time I visit! 11.0 today. Forcing down some pâté dropped it to 9.0 in an hour. Going to have to keep up this habit no matter how painful :/

11.6 Only "naughty" food was a single slice of toast, hours before bed so unlikely to be responsible. Feel like I'm coming down with a cold :(

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I don't think so. I haven't listened to Radio 4 yet today but I'm told my new phone can get those emergency alerts so we're probably still ok. 10.7 today, ate a slice of cheese, an hour later, 7.8. That's a higher starting point, a smaller snack, and a much bigger drop than yesterday. Need to...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I've had a slice of cheese to arrest DP. Pork belly for main meal but we have no fresh veg except half a cucumber as we're running the fridge down in preparation for the trip to Scotland. Hope there's something suitable in the freezer otherwise I'll be inadvertently carnivore for a while

    Losing (carb) cravings

Nothing obvious enough for me to notice. One day of loose tummy but that was only about 10 days ago.

    Losing (carb) cravings

Thank you @Pipp. That's the sort of thing I hoped would happen but the timing is a bit wild. I pretty much dropped carbs to the current level at the end of April but was still eating heartily and wanting crisps until only two or three weeks ago. Nothing I can think of happened then, and stress...

We're breaking the journey south with a night in Carlisle so will sadly have to pass on this one. Tebay services should offer similar quality English meats which will have to do.

    Losing (carb) cravings

I've been trying to eat low-carb since 2016, but during the last few years, due to illness and increased stress, things slipped a bit, and heigh ho, roll on April 2025's HbA1c of 113 eeek. I immediately cut out cola and sweet things apart from the occasional yogurt or ice cream, and tightened...
