Has anyone ever experimented with Tresiba in this way? (Not medically reccomended or advisable)

My previous pens were 2U, so my dose choices were either 8 or 10..so for a while I was doing alternate days dosing of 8/10.. it mostly worked but I discussed with my doctor and switched to the refillable cartridge ones with 1U and I was able to select 9U.. worked a treat, and if you need to be...

    Electric induction ovens/Abbott LIBRE sensors

A couple of weeks ago I needed to get an MRI scan for a knee injury. Before going in I googled whether libre sensors were affected by the MRI & it seems they are the only sensor approved for use in MRI. The nurse confirmed it was ok as long as I covered it with my hand during the scan (I...

    Metformin side effects

At original diagnosis I was put on Biogaran MF on min dose and it was a disaster. Changed immediately to Merck Stagid MF and have been on that now for about 2years at max dose and it's (mostly) fine.. so ask your doc if there are alternatives that might work perhaps?

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

I have generally had good performance from mine (I believe), but your query prompted me to check against finger-prick just now - at the higher range (just had breakfast..so a spike) there was only 1% error, but I will check more. I have found that the A1C1 estimate is generally lower than blood...

    Confused by recent appt/advice

Hi Em - I'm also on Tresiba (at my request - as indeed it's a lot more stable than previous Abasaglar, which I found for my condition was too reactive). However I am also finding response times very long sometimes as so I can concur with the comments from others to your post as well as your...

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

@LionChild "Particularly in the mornings I started dragging my feet in an odd way."..... wait what? Before I was first diagnosed (initially T2, mcuh later LADA) I had the same problem. I have a couple of herniated disks in my back and occassionally need physio/ostio/pilates to manage but no real...

    Disposing of Freestyle Libre

I'm also in France - just sent back 26 sensors to them. According to what they sent they will take apart the sensors and recycle usable materials within. I don't know the name for it, but all of the 'applicator' plastic packaging, the box and the instruction I put in the household recycling bin...

    Metformin to treat LADA?

To be honest I don't really carb-count daily. I just eat what I feel like but within limits, and try to eat some carbs to prevent lows but I'm still trying to work out what makes sense (and it doesn't always). True that if I don't eat enough carbs I'll need a snack or two. I was travelling a few...

    Metformin to treat LADA?

I was originally diagnosed T2 and on metformin (Stagid) with low-carb diet. After 2years of that, I was diagnosed LADA and now registered as T1. I've maintained max dose of Stagid (2000mg/day) ever since and it's going fine as combined with between 8-10Units of Tresiba (changed from Basaglar as...

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

So glad I found this forum.. I'm not alone!!.. I have had a mirrored experience to DiabeticBear (mid-2022, type2 diagnosis even though very low BMI, initially emergency hospitalised, Insulin for some months before recovering then stopping treatment altogether, then 2years as T2 on Metformin...
