    Tinned tomatoes??

Hi KennyA, I assume (from context) you're replying to me - one reason I joined was to test 'info received' against members' actual experience. My GI comment was based on something like this "Raw tomatoes have a relatively low glycemic index (GI), which means they’re unlikely to cause a...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Proof, if needed, that everyone's circs (and to an extent, received advice) differs : -))

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Me too, and I was kinda relieved coz I wasn't particularly enjoying finger-pricking once or more a day and it seemed a bit pointless as it varied so much compared to the baseline data I'd acquired (4WIW I have a background in stats/bioscience so I have some idea of what I'm talking about). Tinned Plum Tomatoes

4WIW this occurred to me too recently. I love toms, especially Mutti plums - I think they (and Cirio, Napolina etc.) are minimal carb-wise and the sugar in a portion (for me 2toms/third of a tin) is negligible. I understand cooked ones spike GI.

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hi, 66yo, still slaving over a hot workstation, diagnosed pre-d a year back @46. I was told at the surgery that 48 was the cutoff for diabetes 'proper' so this graphic puts that in a slightly different light. June25 number 45, go back in Oct - so at least I'm going in the right direction. I...
