What's the worst I can eat?

I would just need to look at a cheese toasted sandwich.

    VERY high hbac1

One of the things that pushed me into getting tested, was a headache anytime I ate. Plus drinking the planet dry every day -I had to take 3 bottles of water to bed each night! That was on top of drinking loads through the day. did you buy the chocolate or was it given to you? I'd say it's a...

    Metformin question

Why would you want to take a drug you don't need to take? Why would you not want to get an HBA1c test whenever offered the opportunity? How are your Depression & Anxiety now? Are you in a place where you could look at your diet instead? I don't think any of us gets to choose which medication...

    Heat

What is he usually? Is he possibly snacking or grazing? Even with the same foods as normal he could still be higher if he's eating at different times, eating the same foods but over a longer period of time etc Is he drinking enough water and not too much/any juice, squash etc? Good news is...

    Lacking motivation

I find that when I'm eating properly low carb, it's much easier to stick to because I rarely get hungry. Add in carbs and I just want to eat! I'm motivated by the fact that I do not want to be on medication. I'm also trying to avoid medication for my high blood pressure. Though despite being...

    Covid Vaccine Priority

I came here to see if there were any posts about this... the Moderna one looks to have been tested on 'vulnerable' people, but I haven't found any D specific info yet. As for who should get priority, I think we need to see what's available at the time as efficacy will vary I'd like to know...

    Tired!

When I fall off the LCHF wagon, I know when my BGL’s are starting to get too high and one of the things that changes is needing to get up to use the toilet in the night, when my BGL’s are good I don’t need to.

Have any other low carbers quit dairy and noticed a big difference?

I’m vegetarian and I don’t eat eggs. I was vegan for a few years, but pre diagnosis of T2 I’m VKC/keto and basically not losing any weight I might try cutting out dairy next week and see if it helps, but <groan> I’ll be ‘good free’ if I cut much more out!

    High Bs

I’m T2, when my insulin resistance was better I could tolerate carrots (& hommous) but seemingly not at the moment! I tolerate ice cream better right now. (It’s not something I usually eat, but did on holiday.). I miss carrots so I periodically eat & test. How about LCHF with people on here...

Signs of being on your way to remission?

    Not doing very well.

It is hard & it is utterly rubbish being diabetic. I’m not one of the people who think it’s great because it’s made them healthier! I’m a resentful, grumpy diabetic. However, the thing that gets me back up on the low carb wagon is the fear (of retinopathy, amputations etc) and a complete...

    Type 2 Extreme Drowsiness

It is SO tempting when you feel like that to eat something like biscuits, but it’s absolutely the worst thing you can do, as the secondary crash is worse than the first! (It doesn’t always stop me though, but I’m getting better at not acting like an idiot when I KNOW better!) I try to either not...

FG 7, FG always in 7s.

Everyone is different, but most of us do well when we drastically reduce carbs and exercise. What are you eating? Maybe we can help you with that? I ‘only’ walk, but usually an hour or two a day. It seems for ME that I can lower my numbers with a low carb (circa 30g) diet, to get them in...

    Type 2 Extreme Drowsiness

Absolutely! I normally eat about 30g of carbs a day. I’m currently on holiday in France & while I’m here I allow myself ‘treats’. Based on the fact that whilst I don’t want diabetic complications, a couple of weeks where I have the odd ‘treat’ shouldn’t do too much harm and it gives me...

Fast weight loss but blood glucose static.....

Definitely request another HbA1c before your next appointment Also, tread through the other threads about reviews and the Diabetic Nurses usual response to managing through diet so you are prepared for it. But if you are going to manage it through diet (many of us do) then if st all possible...

    Update- please help!

I’m not st all surprised you’re in shock - I guess it’s good news, but 11years they’ve treat you as T1. That's pretty scary I think probably the most valuable thing you can do for yourself is to try to come to terms with this misdiagnosis and get your head around NOT having T1D first! I’m...

    Fast 800

As others have said, the book is cheap enough & there’s plenty of advice on their website and other websites, you really don’t need to join the program to do it. Again as others have said, it’s just an update on the blood sugar /5:2 books. Basically low carb, time restricted eating & keeping...
