    chocolate and a sacrificial toe

Sounds like you had quite a lot of the stuff and your body couldn't cope with too much too soon. Mind you, if someone showed me where to get sweeties that I thought, rightly or wrongly couldn't hurt me then I would probably pig right out

Sugar cravings - what do you eat?

I found that if I realised beforehand that I was likely to be going to cheat, I made myself drink two glasses of water first. Sometimes, after that, I really don't feel like cheating anymore, it just doesn't seem worth it, especially if your tummy is going plop, plop, plop as you move around, lol

    Very cold feet!

Yes I think that getting the "wobbles" at a higher reading than most people is due to the fact that this is what your body is used to. I used to get weird at anything approaching 5, but when on the low carb for a while, one morning I had a 3.4 and felt fine. So definitiely your body gets used to...

    Vegging out! Fact or Fiction

Be careful with the Atkins diet. I have very successfully lost weight with it over the last 5/6 weeks and kept my BSs down significantly BUT circumstances last Saturday led me to having to have a meal out as we couldn't get home so fish and chips was chosen and we wouldn't be home until well...

No, I wasn't joking about the sugar actually, because the yeast should eat all of the sugar. I am sure I read that somewhere

    Competitions and things

Iused to do quite a few comps, the slogan sort, and won a few little prizes which came in useful sometimes. Have started entering comps again in the last month, having found a good forum to help locate them. My daughter rarely buys the magazine but has twice had a prize from Take a Break. Once...

    breakfast

Well, having finally got all the ingredients together to try the bread recipe, I gave it a go in the breadmaker. Used rapid...and it was a disaster. I knew I should have used the hand method but was persuaded by hubby that this way would be easier, NOT. The bread never rose at all, in fact where...

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hi Hazey, Not been here too long myself but I have to say that there are lots of good people offering really good advice. The best thing for me was to cut down on my carbohydrates drastically which also cut my readings drastically. This is probably NOT what the dietician will advise you but for...

    weight gain with useing insulin

Hi Sarah, no I forgot to mention the Metformin, 3 times a day. Is this what you mean. I did mention to the "specialist" nurse that I had heard of an insulin that shouldn't interfere with the weight so much and I am afraid that she seemed to pretend she didn't hear me. As I should be getting...

    weight gain with useing insulin

Well I am on 60 units of Lantus daily and not getting good enough BSs later in the day. Had a visit to "specialist" nurse last week, not my usual one at my local surgery, who does at least listen to me. She told me to up my Lantus and I explained why I didn't want to as I am already struggling...
