    Newcastle Diet

Good luck Lounzer I'm off diet after 6 weeks but might give it another go after sheffield half marathon in a few weeks. Must admit, holidays and xmas have been my downfall in the past but I'm intending to keep it off this time. 6st is a lot to lose so you'll be on the diet a while, keep...

    Newcastle Diet

After 6 weeks and 2st 10lb lost I've come off the shakes today and reverted to normal food although I'll still be watching what I eat and ensure I'm burning far more calories than I'm eating. I've registered for the Sheffield half marathon in 3 weeks time and will need to eat according to my...

    Newcastle Diet

Day 38 2st 9lb lost so far, I'm sticking to the diet fine and feeling good. I'm overweight now rather than being obese as I have been for the last 19 years. I'm 14st 10lb I'm exercising quite heavily, running, cycling, 10+ mile walking. This wasn't intentional and no doubt not advisable but I...

    Newcastle Diet

I tried losing weight last spring and lost 3 stones, I started exercising and cut out the beer. Then came the holiday season and the warm weather followed by Christmas and by February I'd put all but half stone back on. It's the lifestyle that's my enemy, beer and junk food. The Newcastle diet...

I'd give it a go, especially as your doctor has suggested it, you are newly diagnosed and its better than taking the medication route

    Newcastle Diet

Day 28 of 56 (halfway) and I've lost 2 stones so far. I did something a bit silly yesterday, I pushed myself to the limit by running 16Km (10 miles) on the treadmill in 1hr 40 mins. Not bad for an obese 47 year but got a lot of grief from family over it. Four weeks ago I was steadily...

    Newcastle Diet

I asked myself the same question. I'm using Tesco own and make it with skimmed milk, =202 calories. I've tried Asda own which is made with water but doesn't taste as good. The main thing is I'm seeing results, milk or not. I really would give the diet a go if you are interested

    Newcastle Diet

Well done Tashaleigh, 10lb is good in 2 weeks, far better than nothing at all. You should think of it as potentially 40lb over the eight weeks. I'm sure adjusting the diet to suit yourself is better than dropping out altogether, its not easy at times. I think there are some similarities to...

    Newcastle Diet

Hi Sid. I'm not doing this diet under medical supervision although I know advice is that you should. I've been thinking of making an appointment with my diabetic nurse at some point and saying 'look, this is what I'm doing'. Even though my BMI is 32, I'm quite an active person with an active...

    Newcastle Diet

Two weeks done and 25% of the way. I've lost 1st 2lb so far :D . Even though I've stuck to the diet, I've actually put a pound back on since yesterday  . Even though I feel fit and full of energy, this weekend has been hard, I've been hungry and not been able to get to the gym...

Thanks for the support  I panicked and made the appointment hastily, focusing is up and down all over the place so eye test would be a complete waste of time. I wouldn't mind speaking to the optometrist though for an opinion about what is causing it.

Day 11. Feeling really good, lost my first stone today. One problem though, my eyes have weakened since starting this diet, I'm struggling to read text i could read easily before, although they are slightly better today than yesterday. I have an opticians appointment booked for next Tuesday...

    Newcastle Diet

That,s week 1 done. I've lost 10lb, although for the last 4 days I've lost a pound a day and think I have normalised at this after the initial boost. I did a repeat finger prick test on Saturday, just before lunch (breakfast +3.5 hours) and got a reading of 5.7 compared with 7.8 on Wednesday...
