    Blood Monitors Compared

Is there a current list of monitors available and their pros and cons? I've been on the mobile for years happily but my 'second' monitor has just broken so I think it's time to resign them as they aren't available. I loop so it's mainly checking against dexcom and occasionally ketones...

Pump Choice for DIY Closed Loop with Libre

Come and have a look at android aaps on Facebook or twitter. None of those pumps will close loop but it might be worth having a conversation and pushing for a Dana pump which will close the loop with xdrip. Good luck!

    Animas Vibe replacement

And as far as I know Tandem is only available if youre on a trial in the uk. Best bet yet again is Dana plus phone. or medshit. Plenty of waterproof phone bags and cases available to tuck into a wetsuit or similar

    closed looped system / openAPS

Yes I'm on Android APS and @tim2000s has been or is, I'm not sure what he is using now. I adore my system and its dropped my a1c from 8.4 to 6.4 in a year. Nearly tripled my time in range, fewer hypos and less bad ones, same with hypers and back in range quicker.

    closed looped system / openAPS

If you can speak to your hospital and cancel the 640 order. Tell them you want a Dana pump instead or accuchek combo as @DunePlodder said.

what helps you decide what pump?

Might be worth you joining the AAPS groups on facebook as there are very few users on this site. I personally use the Dana R with a right hand luer as the Combo wasn't an option I had.

I'm not entirely sure its possible to have any more carbs in a bowl unless you sprinkle it with sugar.

    Do you stock pile Insulin

I've already got some extras tucked away because I don't want to wait until after Christmas to start preparing. I would rather be prepared and not need it than not prepare and need it.

FREESTYLE LIBRE - Refused point blank

If you want to self fund the easiest way is to go and get one from a chemist - they aren't on backorder and can be cheaper depending where you go. These is a thread on it somewhere. Completely understand though the rest, I've self funded a dexcom for 5 years now mostly. It can work out cheaper...

FREESTYLE LIBRE - Refused point blank

I cant even imagine not going to a hospital... How do you know you have any access to the most up to date research or meds? how do you find out there are new insulin or technologies available and how do you access them? My Gp wont even give me a script for 1 vial of fiasp or change my insulin...

FREESTYLE LIBRE - Refused point blank

Are you under the care of a hospital? Personally I don't bother turning up (or booking- I don't waste appointments) for GPs 'diabetic checks' as they are a waste of time. From everything I see DSNs used in the loosest term have an interest but have no real idea unless they are working under a...

Another option if you can stand a few carbs is adding half a bag of carrot and swede aunt bessies's mix to the top. I love a small portion with a load of broccoli :)

    three auto conditions

Try the warburtons brown paper bag bread if you can. Its the best I've found. I once found a loaf of it for 5p, I've never been so happy!!! I cannot touch any gluten, apart from causing digestive issues and depression it starts hypos which I'm then at risk of loosing my driving licence from...

    Problem at work

If she doesn't know how much or what she will get how is she supposed to inject? She isn't being picky, its a very normal way of dealing with things (as well as being taught in DAFNE). All of this feels like the head is being unreasonable - possibly in relation to the incident that happened in...
