Does anyone find every day life a struggle with Diabetes 1

Re: Does anyone find every day life a struggle with Diabetes Anti-depressants almost certainly are over prescribed, but clinical depression is far more than just feeling a bit glum and anti-depressants are a crucial part of treating it. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Night time hypo?

Hi, I used to and still at times experience what you're talking about. It certainly sounds like a liver dump, they're a nightmare. If you're a bit steaming and your bg is around the 6 mark I would suggest eating a small bag of chips or something more substantial than a few biscuits. It may...

    Morning headache

Hi Lynbrown. It could well be night time hypos, obviously after ruling out any other things. I used to get trouble with this and after quite a long while, finally have it under control. For me the hypo would occur always at the same time, without waking me and would self correct, i believe...

    Pump power

Re: Pump power That's probably why they wont allow unprotected electrical devices. Pumps are great though, give it some serious thought chum. Your employer may be able to help you out with it. I'd have a word with them. The pump is only powered by a small AAA battery so may well be deemed safe...

    Serious night time hypos

A pump would probably help from what you're saying as it is possible to set different basal rates on an hour to hour basis. This would enable you to have sufficent basal during the day and a much reduced dose during the night. Basal is pump terminology for lantus, long acting insulin . Sent from...

    Hypo?

Those readings appear fine, but if you've experienced a lot of highs recently or your BG has bn high for a while as the level drops you will feel hypo at a higher than usual level. The reverse is also true which can lead to hypo- unawareness. The most important thing is to test your BG but if...

Struggling with my insulin pump while sleeping...

I also have terrible trouble with the pump at night. I occasionally have cannula failures at night after lying on it, but also have a strange reaction to what i think are slight changes in insulin dosage due to where the cannula is fitted. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
