    Joint Pain

I've certainly suffered much more joint pain since taking Metformin. Glucosamin sulphate is good, although the jury is still out as to whether it affects diabetes (the clue is in the name). Good old-fashioned fish oil might better suit the wary.

    Background diabetic retinopathy

I don't, but whenever I have been tested I have been just fractionally over the "borderline" and my doctor thinks I'm doing just fine. That is why I was a tad concerned about the retinopathy but both your posts have been a source of reassurance. Many thanks.

    Background diabetic retinopathy

I now have it in both eyes, even though my eyesight is still considered good for a man of my age (with or without diabetes). Is this necessarily a one-way street to blindness or am I being unduly dramatic?

    Feet Problems

Please forgive a dumb question but my readings are all cool despite being Type 2, all within the realms of "normal" etc., so why do the feet still tingle?

    Blood glucose swings in diabetics

This is probably a stupid and really basic question, but here goes: My BG, when measured following a twelve hour fast, is now down to sub-diabetic levels due to medication. Now I realise of course that without the medication it will be back into double figures in no time. I also realise that...

    Return of the tingles

I've not had tingling of the feet since the first few weeks after I was diagnosed. Since then my BG level has come down to 6.6 and everything has been fairly normal, but today the tingling has returned with a vengeance. Why might this be? Could it have anything to do with the Ben & Jerry's...

Is it possible for a diabetic to exercise too much?

I was told by my podiatrist that the more exercise I can get the better, and there is no such thing as too much. This was after I had told him that I was soon to embark upon a 95-mile sponsored walk over three days. Well, I only managed a total of 79 miles in just over two days but my feet...

Have you had problems with the DVLA since being diagnosed?

Re: Have you had problems with the DVLA since being diagnose That's a relief, thanks for that.

Have you had problems with the DVLA since being diagnosed?

Re: Have you had problems with the DVLA since being diagnose This may sound naive but I was unaware that I needed to even notify the DVLA of my diabetes. I am Type 2, on metformin, glucose reading down to less than it was pre-diabetes and no problems at all (thus far!), but apparently I should...

Man who reversed his diabetes in 11 days

I think that's really the bottom line. Surely a diet doesn't "reverse" diabetes any more than Metformin does?

    leg cramps

Is it possible that Diabetes 2 causes more long-term seizures in the leg, as opposed to ordinary cramps? I ask because I experienced cramp-like symptoms in my left calf which remained with me for over a week. There was no obvious incident which triggered the seizure, although I am a postman...

    It's all okay so far

Diagnosed Type 2 two years ago and have been on Metformin and Simvastatin. BG, cholestrol and everything else has been reverting to "normal" and according to my GP everything is in good working order in spite of the fact that the diet leaves a lot to be desired (although the lifestyle is very...

    MILK and Diabetes

I drink milk like a glutton and my BG has been coming down consistently over two years regardless. I imagine that is the Metformin restoring some kind of order to my pancreas. Should I fear some kind of reversal of my fortunes once the reading has dropped to a certain optimum level?
