    Flu jab

    I have had the flu jab for years and lve never had a reaction against it (not even just a sneeze!) Flu can be so dangerous for us type 1's it's just not worth taking the risk imo.

    How old were you when you first diagnosed with type 1?? And how long do you have it??

    I was diagnosed in 1969,and I was 5 years old,in a couple of weeks I reach the big 50so I guess that means I've been a type 1 for 45 years(OMG,I never realised!)

    Does anybody else get irritated and stressy?!

    I'd deffo say test your blood sugars if you're getting hangry,I think you'll find they're getting a bit low,it'll save a lot of angst between you and everybody you're getting upset with,my o/h can tell me,before I even know myself,that my bs is going down!!

    Multiple insulin dose 2 vs 4

    I'm on the MDI regime,which I alter as and when needed,it gives me the freedom to eat or not,eat little or large,and also when. In fact I'm very happy with its versatility,which suits me and my lifestyle.

    Alcohol

    I always find that if I drink more than two units of alcohol my bs spikes within an hour but that spike doesn't last long then the bs falls through the floor,and I've scared myself on a few occasions by missing the warning signs of impending hypo's,as it really did drop that fast!!!!!!! Safer...

    Insulin smell strong or not ?

    Both of my insulins have a strong "hospital"smell to me(Lantus & Humulog) yet my o/h says that he can't smell them at all.
