Any illness or infection can make your blood sugar go up. Unfortunately, lots of things can do this. Even something as simple as not getting a good night's sleep. Pain can make a difference too.
Raising children is challenging under the best of circumstances. When a child has a chronic disease such as diabetes, the challenges become even greater.
Re: Troubles with 13 yr diabetic
No it's not true-- juvenile diabetes is called that because it sets in your youth.Eating alot of sugar will not in itself cause you to become diabetic -but it isn't good for you to eat a lot of sugar anyway.
. It's always there in the background and, like you, the dreaded diabetes thoughts are running through my mind. High, low, ketones, is cannula still in
I argued that I had to test at least before every meal, before driving, before and after exercise, and before bed. A minimum of 10 a day. So they upped my prescription to 200 which I put in every 3 weeks and so far no problems
Eat a meal. Wait 4/5 hours then start test. I've head people suggest only 4 hours at a time testing during the days as it's more comfortable and makes blocks easy to manage
True it's chewier but I find it's more satisfying when I have it with curries etc if I'm not having naans or chappatis. Always take healthy food, so do not compromise on your health.
