    3 libre2 plus in a week

Yes, they do replace the sensors that fall off so make sure you report all the failures. I've had two sensors fail within a day but that's unusual. So far the Libre 2 Plus haven't given any problems.

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Abbott are very good at replacing any sensors that fall off or fail before the expected end date. For the most part over the last year and now with the Libre 2 Plus they have been fine. I don't like the 15 days though, before they always ended on the same day I started them, now it's uncertain...

Should I buy a libra sensor with alarm for safety

Can you not all your GP to try a Freestyle Libre 2 Plus? I thought all diabetics on insulin should be able to have this and given your night time hypos or lows it would be a big help. Worth asking. Good luck.

    Libre scans per day?

    Same as you, no limits.

Type 1's live till their about 80?

I was diagnosed T1 45 years ago and have been on insulin all that time. Then I was told that my life expectancy would be 20 years less than non diabetics. I've tried hard to stay fit and healthy and my HbA1C's have always been good. Having Freestyle Libre for a couple of years has been...

    How to pursue potential misdiagnosis?

Good luck but it may help if you contact the Independent Diabetes Trust (IDDT) who will send you out a pack if you are T1 or T2. I only found out about them 5 years ago, 40 years after being put onto insulin. The T1 information pack told me more than I had been told in all those years! They...

    Dawn Phenomenon

Wow, that sounds amazing. In 45 years on insulin I haven't see a consultant since diagnosis but have an annual review once a year at my surgery. That worked very well until last year when I started to get weird numbers after eating and couldn't get anyone to respond for months. The other...

    Dawn Phenomenon

That's for the HbA1C though, it would be impossible to achieve those figures all the time.

    Airport Travel with Insulin

Hi, Make sure you tell the security person that your are a diabetic and carrying insulin. I've only once been asked to show my insulin pens and I've travelled a lot. I use a Frio wallet to carry my insulin pens to keep them cool but always remember to keep insulin and other medication in your...

    Type 1 Plane travel

I always keep my insulin in Frio wallets, you use cold water from a tap. I've been in temperatures up to 42C and down to before freezing and they keep your insulin cool. At Heathrow in September due the first time I was asked to taken them out of the Frio to show security but no issues. I...

    Plane travel

I always tell the security person that I'm diabetic and carrying insulin pens and this has never been a problem, literally all over the world. Heathrow T5 in September wanted me to show them the spare pens which were in Frio wallets. First time but it wasn't an issue for security or for me.

    Getting fitter

Muscle weighs more than fat so not unusual to gain weight while getting fitter.

Can anyone help me make sense of this?!

You could buy a cheap glucose meter access test Strips online and use the side of your fingers, never the pad as that's where all the nerve endings are. Try testing before a meal, after a meal and any other odd time just to get an idea if what your blood sugars are doing. Having a Libre 2 trial...

    Keep going low

How about eating different carbs and / or reducing your insulin slightly? It's the only way to find what works better for you. The hot weather can also change things, I've been reducing my lunchtime insulin for the same amount of carbs and that helped to keep my levels from dropping.

    Airport scanners

I've been through scanners with my Libre 2 OK but best to mention it to security so they're aware of it.

Could this be a game changer?

But knowing how blood sugars vary up and down, would we trust a once a week injection? Maybe for basal but not for bolus.

    Type 1 Mega hypo

I switch blue tooth off on my phone then restart it. That can help sort out my Libre 2. It's a tip from the Abbott Helpline.

    Type 1 Mega hypo

Hi I've been having the same problems with lows that have gone on all night. My Libre has woken me up 8 times! I've been having Coca Cola and must have had half a litre by the morning. I've also had massive highs after what I thought was a normal amount of carbs for 6 units of fast acting...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

My last HBA1C was 42 (or 6.1) and on the Libre 2 you can check what your HBA1C is likely to be and mine is usually 40 or 42. (6.0 or 6.1)

    Freestyle Libre 2 Problems

Hi Dean One tip the helpful person at Abbott told me is to turn off Bluetooth, leave for a short time then reset it. It does work, not all the time but if the alarms can't find the Libre it seems to work.
