    When Novorapid pens don't click

I hear ya, but it's a random thing when it happens, I do shoot into the air, always with a new pen to get it going. But when it slips i've already inserted the needle so you can't see if it is injecting or not. And afterward I inject into air and it seems to work, so i'm left wondering if I have...

    When Novorapid pens don't click

Thing is when this happens it definately does not inject as I go seriously high later on. I discard the pen when this happens. I've been type 1 for four years nad it has happened very rarely, but this year already it's happened twice. Doesn't seem to be anyone else here so far that has...

    Low BG - help !!

I cycle to work about the same distance. I never do so without a packet of dextrol tablets in my pocket. You can get them in any chemist. They are very hi GI emergency meds to bring you out of a hypo - kinda like lucazade in a pill. Lucazade itself is not great for cycling as it tends to get...

    When Novorapid pens don't click

Sometimes the plunger seems to slip from say 8 to 0 for example, really fast with no clicks, and it means that actually no insulin has been administered. It keeps happening to me. Seems like a fault, or maybe just a dodgy batch of pens. But this happens maybe every few months for me. I just...

    When Novorapid pens don't click

Hi Sometimes the pens don't click when you inject, so you are left unsure as to whether the insulin has actually gone in or not. Of course you have to assume that it has, and not do a duplicate jab, then wait and monitor yourself to see if you go high to make sure that the jab did not work and...

    night working

It's a difficult one and probably varies for each individual, but generally, routine is good and regular sleeping patterns help greatly with b/s control. I was working shifts when i was diagnosed and I soon realised that I had to change to a 9-5 job, which I did. Monitor yourself when you start...

    Painful injections

Just out of interest, if you do actually rub the injection site it's not a good idea. I was told that it can interfere witht he dispursion of insulin and make lumping more likely. I just stamp my foot a lot :)

How Often A Day Do You Inject?

I was on that and it wasn't enough so they changed me to 4 jabs, one with each meal (Novrapid) and on 24hour background (glargine). I found I instantly had more control over things and never looked back. But it is all individual and different for different people. If your current meds are not...

    Night/Awkward Shift Working

My employer attempted to change me from 9-5 to split shifts of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 alternate weeks. I have just had an occupational therapist evaluation and received an unequivical report that stopped them dead in their tracks. If it's detrimental to your health and effects your blood...
