Their reasonable adjustments are ' the toilet is ok to use ' . There is no sharps box to use so I have to walk through the home with exposed needles . I work an 11 hour day so it's hard to make judgments on how much insulin I give , I've had to skip a few meals so I don't use up my cartilage...
I've just been informed that I have to use the public changing room toilet in work to change my pump cannular instead of a sterile drugs room in residential care home where I work . Is this hygienic enough and what are my rights ? Help !!!!
I've been on the pump for nearly a year and yes it has its + points , but sometimes can't help thinking I was better off on the pen , do any of you amazing members feel the same , just need to know I'm not being soft
I bought mine for £2 off DUK , the only thing it says on it is "medical alert diabetic type 1 " . It may be a bit extreme but I'm thinking of getting a tattoo with same thing on my wrist !! Would you do the same ??!!

Hi Dragonflye
Get a copy of the human rights act from Diabetes UK . It states diabetes is a hidden disability so employers have to make allowances . Companies hate it because they don't have a leg to stand on . Happened to me with an ex employer , took legal action and they soon backed down ...
I have been through this myself , I am in the same same trade , download the human rights act from Diabetes UK site and show your bosses that you are being discriminated against . If you get no joy , take it further . Good luck

Do any of you lovely people have any photos of the old urine testers ? Was it 5 drops of urine and 10 of water , pop a brick of a tablet in it and let it go boiling hot to the touch . Diagnosed in 81 used the urine tester then went on to the guillotine , brings back painful memories

Get legal advice or CAB , happened to me . I wasn't allowed to keep my insulin close by , I work as a chef so it is fast paced so I had to do a BG and inject as quickly as possible , when you are told to keep elsewhere its just a matter of time before DKA sets in . I threatened to take them to...
