    Coping with Type 1 Diabetes

The doctors and nurses have tried to be as helpful as possible but I find that there is some things that they can't help me with. At first they will help you understand and support you as you get used to the new changes and the new routine that you'll have to do.

Maybe I should try the counseling like everyone has mentioned! Thank you everyone for the kind words. You don't understand how much they really mean xx

    Needing help :(

My levels are constantly in the required area they should be. They only get out of sorts when I'm ill or get stressed to the point of forgetting things. I have recently stopped checking my bloods due to lack of time.

    Needing help :(

I have previously had my diabetes controlled but it was a very strict and tight regime which was too controlling for me. I have been offered counseling but turned it down. I think it's more support which is stopping me from making myself better. Thank you for the advice :) xx

    Needing help :(

Hi everyone, I recently posted on here about '10 years and not coping' and I have to say I was completely surprised by the feedback. Unfortunately I'm still in complete denial! I'm not looking after myself but I know I should be but I seem to be making sure everyone else is okay before...

    Driving License Renewal

I haven't needed assistance with hypos in a very long time! When I say struggling I mean it in a way of struggling to cope with my diabetes so my blood sugars haven't been as well controlled as they have been but they have slightly improved.

Unfortunately I live on an island so the majority of Type 1's are children and babies. I have been on the DAFNE course for a couple of years now.

    Unsupportive community group

We don't have a close relationship anymore. I don't feel like I can talk to them about anything. I don't feel like I have that trust as they wont understand or they will just have a go at me.

    10 years and not coping

I think I know that I'm not coping well enough but I know what I should be doing but I'm just not doing it. It's like something tell me not to do it but I don't know what. I just can't seem to be able to do it.

    10 years and not coping

Thank you to everyone on your advice. I have looked into the pump but have never got any professional opinion on it. I am in the process of moving onto another specialist who deals with later life complications and uses of pumps. Unfortunately I don't have any diabetic groups in my area...

Hi - I'm hoping there is someone out here who can listen to this. It's coming up to 10 years of being a T1 diabetic and I'm still not coping with the fact I have the disease. People try talking to me about the damages that it can cause if not controlled properly but that still doesn't seem to...
