Good Evening!

Just a quick note to say that my husband has been diagnosed T1 for 1 year now and so much has changed! We were so scared when it all started, the horror stories, the hypos! It was dreadful.

For the first 6 months the only thing that kept us going as this forum and that's the truth. Doctors were useless, DSN was useless, we were told my husband could never eat sugar again which is ridiculous! HBA1C was in the 60's, my husband was forcing himself to eat a bowl of porridge before bed to keep his sugars up, it was a nightmare.

Now, HBA1C is 48, no hypos, healthy weight gain (8st up to 9.3) and he literally eats whatever he wants! Chocolate, cake, chips, sweets, it's amazing. What's made this possible? 2 things: You guys for being incredible and the DAFNE course.

We have learnt so much and we are so grateful to you guys.

The DAFNE course was the greatest thing he could have done! Met other T1's and taught how to carb count.

Thanks so much guys. x
