So close! I hate cannulas in my hand so they said as long as my glucose levels stayed below 8, I wouldn't need the sliding scale. I made sure they did stay below it but needed pretty much double my usual ratio to do so.
With my second I was on a insulin pump so had my own built in sliding scale.
Also massively reduce your background insulin before the C-section - as soon as your beautiful baby is born you will need nowhere near as much insulin, although I'm sure your consultant will have gone through all this with you. Late pregnancy, my breakfast ratio was 8:1 and the next morning post birth I was back to 2:1! Woke up the second morning with BG of 1.8!
Good luck to you and your baby xx

I've already got my new insulin regime from my consultant:)

Been told to take juice cartons into hospital with me for when I'm breast feeding x

Oh wow you've done amazing in reducing your hba1c , I hope that everything goes smoothly for you and baby .
Loads of luck. :p x
I'm so proud of myself,my average blood sugar before pregnancy was 12/13 mmols
Now it's 6!
My old diabetic team said I'd never ever stabilise myself and I've proved them wrong and in pregnancy too! :)
