Hello,

After being on the 8 week blood sugar diet, I decided to start intermittent fasting with 16:8. It is my first day. In the morning I woke up with 5.7 and now, 4 hours later, my sugar level was 9.1 and 5 hour later it is 10.3! I am not sure how my sugar level is supposed to go down after lunch if it high to begin with.

This was from Jason Fung's site, but not sure what to make of it:
Should i worry if my blood sugar while fasting goes up to in the 140’s [Around 8]?
This is quite common, and due to breakdown of glycogen or production of new glucose in response to some of the hormonal changes of fasting. It is neither good nor bad.

This is not helpful! Does anyone have experience of this? Should I just stop the 16:8? Will I be high all day now?

Any advice is appreciated.

Sorry I am unable to assist you with this - I am sure someone will be along soon to help explain your results.

What I am also unsure of is whether I should inject to correct myself? I generally only use humalog as an occasional correction and not for my meals.
