I am a functioning Alcoholic with type 2 Diabetes...........(74y/o -14stone)

Enough said.

My wake-up blood reading is 10+, not much more....

I don't suffer any symptoms as far as I can tell. If I exercise during the day, my s/levels are below 10.

I kinda suffer from "diabetes don't care " syndrome, and at 74 y/o, with most things functioning (most) Do I Have to worry.??

I do reduce sugar content but enjoy porridge, and the occasional sweet bun.

Diabetes is in the family, and I reckon I have got away with the worst of it...........

My gin intake is not good, but heck it gets me through the days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you have regular diabetes reviews, @mj224? The feet and eye checks, BP, etc?
Especially HbA1c?
When you say ‘functioning alcoholic’ how much alcohol and how much functioning?
Fasting is generally the most difficult to get under control. How often do you test during the day, and how much below 10 is your BG then.
I know I ask a lot of questions, but just looking for a clearer picture to be able to answer yours… i.e. “Do I Have to worry?”
