There are several threads about the flu jab around at the moment. Yes, it's worth getting because it's a very unpleasant illness for anyone but in diabetics it can be even more severe and potentially put you in hospital with pneumonia. Our bodies are not as good at fighting infections as non diabetics are. There is a lot of misinformation around about the flu jab so if you hear anything negative about it just ask and I can link you to some medically correct information. You can also ask your doctor about it.I've got my first proper appointment with the diabetes nurse this Thursday - I did see her last week but the appointment had been mis-booked so she had to re-book it - She mentioned checking my feet well not to sound like a total idiot but other than checking I've got two of them and that each only has five toes that aren't webbed what exactly a foot check it consist of?
Also she said I should get the flu jab as I'm now in an at risk group I've never had the flu in my life so is it worth getting?
