Hi, ive had type 1 diabetes for a year now as of about 2 weeks ago. I cant seem to stop thinking about being diagnosed with it and all of the severe symptoms i had last year before ending up fighting for my life at 18. I dont have any friends that are diabetic so i cant exactly talk to them about how depressed ive been feeling. Does or did anyone else feel like this and if so what you did to come over this horrid feeling. It seems to affecting everything in my life right now.

Welcome to the forum @Isobel123

I'm sure most of us felt like this post-diagnosis, I certainly did and it felt my world had come crashing down, but usually those feelings pass in time when you start to come to terms with things, if your struggling then I would suggest you speak with your diabetes care team and hopefully they will offer support and advice.

Your never alone when you have this forum to share your worries and concerns, do hang around as there's some great people who are only too willing to offer help and guidance, Best wishes.

Honestly recently I've been feeling like an experiment to them and I've not spoke to my diabetes support team in a few months. Now that I haven't spoken to them in that long I don't know if I can find the courage to do it.
