Hey there,
last week my Endo informed me about my newest results, she told me my Hb1ac was 6.1%. Then yesterday I picked up the complete lab results and there were two Hb1ac one was the 6.1% and one was 5.4%. Quite a difference there isn't it? I contacted the Endo and asked how this could be and she explained this was 2 different labs. The last Hb1ac they took in September was 5.9%. I already was worried that my Hb1ac has been rising, though to low carb. Now I figured that the 5.9% was made by the lab that came to the 5.4% result. Well the most important thing is that the Hb1ac is under 6.5% and therefore no need to be controlled with medication.
Did you experience this? Is it usual that the Hb1ac can differ this much?
